You had to like the way AUGUSTA NATIONAL ran on at his first start over 1200m. This isn’t any harder and he can improve on his 3rd on debut. Is fitter now, more experienced and the extra 200m looks right up his alley. Plus, he’s a 3YO and they have yet to cut him which strongly suggests the stable likes him. Throw in Chicama for the quinella bet.

MAMA JOY looks like a star stayer in the making. She is racing her way through the grades and should have little trouble with these. If you can get $3.40 or better, get on.

Looking forward to backing this lightly raced filly PEACE BIRD. She gets back but can sprout wings. Ran 4th on debut in this grade and this is 100m further. Can charge home late and score from Miss Lola who has some talent at this level.

This mare EDITING may well develop into a Gr 1 horse. I suspect they will come for her first up. Be prepared. Get on early.

Solid Group race has been around a long time. I like STATUARIO here despite the bad draw. Probably goes back looking for cover. Was 4th last start in a  similar race, beaten just over 3 lengths at level weights by the likely Melbourne Cup winner this year, Half Yours. Is 3rd up here and I suspect he flies late to beat the longshot Mark Twain. She’s A Hustler is very smart and will be in this finish if she gains a start but is 4th reserve.
