It’s not every day you find one in a barrier trial that ran last and you think, hmmm, I’ll get on this when it races. But, in the 3YO colt BEHAVIOUR I have. The fact he’s still a colt says a bit too. He is on debut here and I think he was throttled down in his trial which he could have won. Off the inside here with Jay Mac on top, looks an intriguing wager to me from stablemate Pink Shalala.

I know he got all the favours down the running being on the inside when the rest dropped back on a track that didn’t swoop, but DEMARCAY was only 2nd up and he hit the line hard to grab 2nd behind a Canterbury specialist. He should be much fitter this time around and I think he wins well. Guzumped was strong late for 4th in that same race. Quinella them.

The last two times FAMOUS PEDRILLE has raced at BM 72 level she has been strong and placed. Gets a 3kg allowance to help here and is now 3rd up so is very fit. Drawn wide is a little worry but if she gets cover she can win from the in form Flying Destiny.

You’ve got to love the way this Ciaron Maher gelding MORRYL MORAL has come back this time up. He’s had two starts and been runner-up in both in this grade. Gets a nice gate here, is super fit, Johnny Allen to ride and just appears too well in to dismiss for mine. The long straight will suit him a lot.

Once UNTETHERED drew the fence trainers Michael Moroney and Glen Thompson decided to have a real crack by enlisting the services of star rider mark Zahra. This bloke is a styer who is resuming here and may find some of these speedy early, but he will run home. Was a model of staying consistency blast campaign in this level.
