Canterbury Race 1 (1200m)

After four race starts I think connections have learned how to ride this filly GRASSBURN. Let her find her feet, settle then swoop. Up until last start she had been ridden on speed and was found wanting the final stages of these races but at the ‘Farm last start over 1100m, she was last of 12 early but came home hard to grab 4th in an eye-catching performance. The extra 100m suits this time.

Sandown Race 2 (1400m)

What you see is what you get with this filly SPIRIT OF NURAI. She drops out to near the rear and runs on. She’s no star but is honest nd is now very fit. I see her relishing this grade and track and making a swooping run late to claim the prize.

Canterbury Race 2 (1200m)

I’m on the lightly raced ZOURIPPER in this. He is 2nd up after a 7th of 12 this grade when resuming last start. Was beaten 2.5lengths and was checked with 200m to go. He should have won. Well worth a bet in this.

Canterbury Race 6 (1250m)

Everything points to a victory for Godolphin’s HOW DARE YOU. Drops in grade after a solid 7th when 2nd up. Fitter now and has drawn immaculately. Should get the run of the race and dash away with 100m to go. I’m very keen.

Dundeel BM 72

Canterbury Race 7 (1900m)

This bloke GUZUMPED, who by the way is well named being by Dundeel, anyway, looks well placed. He has his foot on the till and last start lumped 60kg around in a better field when a great 3rd to the very handy Headley Grange who came out in Saturday class last week and was placed. Looks to get all the favours here and should come with a late and strong charge to win from MONARCH’S BRAE.
