This filly WEZZA got back, settled and ran home very strongly last start in this grade last start. It was just her 2nd outing and she looked composed and mature. Now, she was beaten 5 lengths but the winner looks like being a Gr 1 horse. Gai and Adrian have one in here that goes fast named TROPICAL SQUALL who is on debut. They should be the main players. Quinella them up.
Canterbury - R3 Schweppes Plate Mdn 3YO
Nice compact filly with finishing power. Hasn’t run a place yet in three race starts but has been close and this isn’t hard. Ran 4th this level when resuming last start. Fitter now, will sit about 5th to the bend and can finish over them late. SCOTLAND from the bush can run 2nd.
Canterbury - R5 Furphy BM 72 Hcp
English import who has raced here three times and did score this grade at Canterbury two runs back. Sent to much better grade last start and plodded home admirably when 4th. This is easier, he is considerably fitter and gets a welcome 3kg claim from in form apprentice Jet Stanley. DILLIAN can run 2nd.
Canterbury - R7 Toyota BM 72 Hcp
Is 3rd up here and last start in Saturday grade, settled last and to be honest was given no chance to win yet ran on to grab 6th. Drops in class here and is much fitter. Stablemate FLASHING STEEL is the hardest to beat as he is in great form winning past three, latest this class.
