This does look like a great race for GLOBAL EMPIRE. I suspect from this lovely inside gate that he drives forward but allows Canada Bay to cross and lead. He probably then goes up and either sits on her outside or eases and stays a length behind her then peels into the clear. Either way he is fast enough down the running to kick away. Quinella them.
Robrick Lodge Handicap
ZOUPRINCE and DAZZLE LEGEND fought out a very similar race last time and will be right in it again but I suspect the filly down the bottom, STAR ACT, is ready to fire up. New trainer now in Bjorn Baker and her one run from a spell was much needed although only average. Trialled well in the past. Watch market.
Hyland Race Colours Handicap
Love the look of KING OF NAPLES in this. When 2nd up last start he travelled wide, then was in a bumping dual with 250m to go which knocked him off stride but boy when he steadied he charged home to grab 3rd. Fitter now.
Furphy Handicap
This MR KENNEDY has turned the corner and improved a lot since changing stables in March. Last start led all the way to easily win Wyong maiden. This is harder but that improvement curve should take care of that.
Odds Surge Handicap
Another one who has grown a leg since being transferred. BRAVE STAR has won two from two since the change but to be fair both starts have been on heavy tracks and he has flown in the mud. It is damp here so hoping that’s the main reason again.
