TURNBULL STAKES

FLEMINGTON Race 8 (2000m) 4:25 pm

VIA SISTINA never really got into the race last time out in the Makybe Diva when Mr Brightside and Craig Williams just strolled around the course and nothing could catch them when he sprinted. There is likely to be more speed in this race today and the move up to the 2000m will suit her much better. She is a wonderful mare who should be able to get back into the winners stall and add another Group 1 to her resume’.

DANEHILL STAKES

FLEMINGTON Race 6 (1100m) 3:15 pm

ROSBERG had a big boom on him coming into his debut run and he never let anyone down, running away with victory in a Listed race at The Valley. He has had a jump-out at Flemington to look down the straight and although he is very raw, I’d expect him to keep learning and becoming more and more professional as time goes on. He should still prove hard to beat in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes.

Class 2 Plate

DOOMBEN Race 4 (1350m) 1:58 pm

PHAROAHS PROPHECY couldn’t hold off Make A Call last time out over the 1640m but today comes back in trip and this race looks suitable to jump back onto the winner’s list. He won here first-up track/distance by over 3 lengths and then went up in trip to score impressively again. He’s had a freshen up, so look for him to roll forward and he should take plenty of running down at the business end of the race.

BM85 Handicap

DOOMBEN Race 9 (1110m) 4:57 pm

EPIC PROPORTIONS is coming back north after a brief Melbourne campaign where he won at Caulfield and then only beaten 2 lengths by La Fracas at The Valley last time out. That form looks to stack up well and when these Sydney sprinters venture to the sunshine state, they usually perform extremely well. At the odds on offer, he looks a great each-way investment.

Kalgoorlie Cup

KALGOORLIE Race 8 (2300m) 4:45 pm

Going to stick with William Pike and STARRY HEIGHTS to go back to back in winning the Kalgoorlie Cup. Has never finished further back than second at his four starts at the track and really enjoys it here. He should be peaking now at his fourth run this time in and look for them to turn the tables on Sentimental Hero from his defeat to him in the Boulder Cup a fortnight ago.
