This race looks perfect for MY GLADIOLA to break back into the winners’ circle after going down narrowly in the Lightning first-up and then struggled to make any ground last time out in The Newmarket. Third up today, this three-year-old grey filly should be ready to peak and prove the one to beat.

BIRDMAN after his dominant win in the Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield looks very hard to beat here in the Australian Cup. He has been working through the distances and this 2000m should be cherry ripe for him to continue his winning form. Ben Melham and Birdman have formed a strong partnership, and expect them to win this Group 1 race today at headquarters.

Will be having an each-way bet on LOVEY DOVEY today after narrowly losing for the second time in a row. She is bursting to win one again and this looks very suitable. The rise back to 2200m looks perfect for her and watch for her to be running all over them late.

DOMINANT DARCY gets the low draw here and should be able to bring up a picket fence of wins in the last race today. He pulled clear for an easy victory at Gold Coast last time out and this race maps similarly, allowing him to get the sit and be able to come with one dash to go on by them to get the chocolates again.

Going to give WONDERFULLY MADE another chance to redeem herself after going under last time in The Natasha to Masmelo. She faces her again today, if the topweight can sit a little closer and be ridden more positively here in this year’s WA Oaks, she will be able to outstay them and turn the tables this time around.
