Open Handicap
KINGS REFLECTION got a long way back last time at Flemington but ran home strongly to go down by 1.5 lengths to Brillantezza, whom he meets again today. He gets a 1.5kg weight advantage from that run and also looks very well suited to the increased distance. He looks very hard to beat.
Bletchingly Stakes
MIRAVAL ROSE was a fantastic first-up run when she came from almost the tail of the field here last time in the Monash Stakes and was only beaten under a length by Winnasedge. She has a great second-up record, only missing a place once and the 1200m looks to suit her perfectly.
Open Handicap
WESTERN MISS was extremely impressive winning at her past three runs. Last week at Belmont she put them to the sword early on in the straight and the others couldn’t catch her. Although she is back in trip for this race, she has drawn barrier one and will get every chance to add to her win tally.
Open Handicap
Always feel that any Sydneysiders who travel north are generally serious contenders against benchmark grades. SIR ARTIE fits that category and after a whirlwind finish to grab fifth last start at Rosehill, he looks very hard to beat. He drops 7kg from that effort, will be fitter third-up and to top it off, gets Ben Thompson on board. He ticks plenty of boxes.
BM85 Handicap
Coming home with another Ben Thompson ride in WITHOUT PARALLEL. She is a very honest mare who ran fourth at Rosehill last start and drops 6.5kg for that run. Although she has not won for nearly one year and is drawn a little wide, she possesses plenty of ability. She should go forward from the start and this looks like a nice race for her to get back into the winner’s stall.
