VAIN STAKES

CAULFIELD Race 5 (1100m) 2:45 pm

TYCOON STAR raced extremely well throughout the Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper carnivals last season, running 3rd & 4th respectively. He seems to have come back in fine fettle winning both jump-outs over recent weeks and should prove hard to hold out first-up.

P.B.LAWRENCE STAKES

CAULFIELD Race 8 (1400m) 4:35 pm

Do like PRIVATE EYE here in the P.B. Lawrence first-up. He has been trialing really well and the camp have decided this is the race to kick off his campaign. He is such a consistent boy and always gives his best. He should be able to race up near the lead and let down on straightening for home. Should look the winner at some point in the run home.

OPEN HANDICAP

DOOMBEN Race 7 (1200m) 3:17 pm

NETTUNO should take a power of holding out in the open sprint. Drawn low, he will get a soft run in behind the speed which is likely to come from Steady Ready and that gelding will have to spend plenty to get across. Nettuno should be able to camp just off him and when let down in the straight, prove too strong for them.

CLASS 6 HANDICAP

DOOMBEN Race 9 (1350m) 4:28 pm

TALTARNI FIELDS is coming off a fantastic run last time out when 2nd to Pereille at Eagle Farm and looks the hardest to beat in the last at Doomben. He gets a 3kg claim for Corey Sutherland and has the same weight as last start. There is no Pereille in this race today and he should take some stopping at the business end of this race.

BELMONT Race 8 ()

AUTUMN REBEL was strong to the line first-up after a long break, running a close up 2nd to Little Silver. He will be much fitter for that effort and even better suited to the rise in trip. He ran 6th in the WA Derby back in 2024 and will be crying out for further in time. Look for him to be hard to toss in the last at Belmont.
