A Day At The Track – Rosehill

1. It is extremely hard to go past a placegetter at BM 78 coming back to a BM 72 with the same weight so SALISANO looms large. Gets up on pace and is very fit.

2. Nash Rawiller seems to have a knack for riding Midway winners and he’s on HUON here who also has placed at this level recently. Must be included.

3. Watch the market here as GLENTHAUNE who is 2nd up, has been heavily specked at huge odds. Ran 4th this level when resuming.

1. Hard to tip a midweek BM 64 last start winner who scraped in normally in a Saturday BM 72 but the money for HURSTVILLE ZAGREB has been non-stop and solid. He’s race just twice for 2 wins and looks progressive.

2. KAPAKIRI isn’t all that good but he is very fit and this is his home track. was closing 5th this grade last start and will battle away.

3. LINCOLN ROCKS has a big weight but is 2nd up and is expected to improve. Damp track will be helpful too.

Tips: 11 -7 – 1

1. STATE VISIT won a midweek race coming home his last 200m faster than anything on the card at debut. He clearly is very talented. But, will he be close enough to launch an attack against this much tougher field? He did win like a star in the making.

2. SKYHOOK is still a maiden but perhaps shouldn’t be. Narrowly beaten in a very similar race after getting a knock in the straight, so big danger.

3. COMEDY met with bother 2nd up in similar race and was a closing 6th. Expect him to be in the finish here.

Tips: 8 – 4 – 2

1. Tough race to find the winner as you can reasons to NOT pick most of them. But, STRADA VARENNA isn’t one of those. She is very fast and led all the way to easily win midweek juvenile on debut. Harder here but will scoot to the front and will take catching.

2. DREAM SIDE was very strong late on debut when beaten a nose in midweek grade. Made up enormous ground that day and bigger track here suits.

3. MEMO is very talented but still a maiden after 5 starts. Runner-up in the $3million Magic Millions then spelled before an even first-up run, beaten 3 lengths in the harder Sweet Embrace. Fitter now and will dash late.

Tips: 5 – 9 – 1

1. ARAPAHO has been outstanding in both his starts this time up. Has been ridden forward and at WFA against the best in the land he has finished just a length or so behind them. Both times he was beaten by Lindeman but this trip suits him more.

2. LINDEMAN has to be included. He has performed outstandingly past 2 starts at WFA running a place each time after leading. Is the pace here and is hard to run down on his home track.

3. Import VAUBAN is the dark horse. Now with Gai and Adrian and trialling very well, he is first up here and has been backed. Have in your numbers.

Tips: 2  – 1  – 5

1. It’s interesting to watch the betting  moves here and then compare that to your own thoughts. For instance LAZZURA who was a cracking 3rd in a better race last start when 2nd up, has drifted. Not as much money for her on Friday as her stablemate Declichy Boulevarde who should has soundly beaten home at her past 2 starts.

2. Victorian visitor WONDER BOY is no champ but he gets home and has been racing in tough company. Can place.

3. You have to follow the money so DECLICHY BOULEVARDE who is 3rd up here has been heavily supported and this is her home track.

Tips: 9 – 1 – 12

1. The 3YO colt PERSPIRATION looks the play for mine. Especially if he runs like he did under 56kg when resuming last start when he beat Gatsby’s. Weighted to win this.

2. Huge step up in grade here for PISANELLO who resumes from a spell. He won 3 in a row before spelling but all in much weaker grade. Has been heavily backed on Friday though.

3. COAL CRUSHER is the best horse but is resuming and has a huge weight. Would win on his best day though.

Tips: 11 – 7 – 1

1. Lots and lots of doubt about LADY OF CAMELOT getting 1500m at Gr 1 level, especially against a rising superstar who ran her down over 1400m last start. But I think the tempo will be a bit sifter here and she can grab a lead as they turn for home and hold on.

2. OLENTIA is ready. She’s 3rd up and her 4th last start was an outstanding run in a race where she was given no chance of winning. This is her home track too. Big danger.

3. LADY SHENANDOAH may well go bang and win easily. She is exceptional and did run Lady Of Camelot down in extremely fast time over 1400m last start. Bad draw here though but may well be good enough to overcome it.

4. AMELIA’S JEWEL is a bona fide star, already a Gr 1 winner and back in form. Big danger too.

Tips: 6 – 2 – 4 – 1

1. He has a big weight but has earned it as he is by far the best horse in the race. I’m talking about PERICLES who, should he run up to his best, will win this.

2. FREEDOM RALLY has been racing well in tougher races. Is 3rd up here, down in grade and will make his presence felt.

3. REDEINER is trained here and is 2nd up after a good 4th when resuming in a similar race. Is a Gr 1 winner so must be considered.

Tips: 1 – 4 – 6

1. Gai and Adrian saddle LES VAMPIRES who is in very well at the weights here. ran 3rd in a tougher race when resuming. Much fitter now and looks the one to beat.

2. Lots of Friday money has come in for GLINT OF SILVER who is also 2nd up. Very reliable racehorse.

3. HARLEM QUEEN resumes and the booking of Jay Mac suggests she is ready to fire. Respect her.
