A Day At The Track – Rosehill 29 November

1. This bloke DR HOOK is about the best named runner on the card. His dam is named Sylvia’s Mother and back in the 1980s the band Dr Hook had a worldwide smash hit with a song called – Sylvia’s Mother. Anyway, this young horse won a trial recently sitting wide and being asked to work for only 60% of the run. He looks to have a lot of talent.

2. Chris Waller’s JAIPUR MASON caught the eye on debut at newcastle when making good late ground after a weaving passage in the straight for 5th. Back on home track here and with that experience he looms large.

3. TIGRONI is on debut here but showed a lot of speed to lead all the way and win a trial recently. Will be thereabouts.

Tips: 2- 11- 10

1. CLAIM THE CROWN has had a few runs this time up and is super fit. Raced on pace last start in slightly tougher race over 2400m and kept finding to grab 2nd. This shorter trip and easier grade should suit.

2. DIAMOND SHOW has drawn poorly so not sure where he sits in the run but is 3rd up and is ready to pounce. Watch market.

3. PHILIPSBURG is one of those in and out types who bobs up infrequently at huge odds. If this is one of those days, and he is very fit, he will be big odds.

Tips: 2- 6- 5

1. How smart is LADY OLENNA? The market suggests pretty good as she has been very well backed overnight. Resumes after 6 months break here in a race that she can win based on her form last prep.

2. SHENANDOAH RIVER is lightly raced but has already shown she is very fast. Only young but has won past 2 in the bush leading all the way. Should be on speed all the way here.

3. Wagga filly SERENDERING is unbeaten in 2 bush starts. Much harder here but does like to sit off pace and charge late. Respect her.

Tips: 6- 15- 16

1. They are dropping of LUSKAIRE like flies despite the fact he’s won his past 4 starts, latest at this trip and level. Has gone up 1.5kg in weight but hasn’t lost a leg and is very fit. Big chance.

2. The money has come for MERIDIANA who is racing in superb tough. Market isn’t wrong often.

3. BROSNAN is a threat at this level always especially when he is very fit like he is for this.

Tips: 2- 1- 3

1. This speedster LYLES looks headed for Black Type. Scoots home hard and is getting fitter and faster with racing. Going for 3 in a row here.

2. Anything trained by Joe Pride of late is winning so KING’S SECRET looks well placed. is resuming but won 2 in a row last prep and has been backed.

3. SNACK BAR also resumes but is firm in the market and has the great draw.

Tips: 3- 1- 7

1. You just can’t go past the brilliant run of TAVROS last start in a much harder race when 5th at randwick. looks too good.

2. MARSABIT hasn’t won for about 25 years it seems but this race is suited to him. No surprise at around $50 to see him run a  big race.

3. POISEN POINT is in career best form and as such can bob into a place.

Tips: 3- 4- 8

1. It’s a fallacy to think big weight stops star sprinters so I’m all over FRONT PAGE here. he is too fast.

2. You must have ZEALOUSLY in your numbers. Is 3rd up, is racing well and should be right in this finish.

3. Goulburn’s BANDI’S BOY is so well in at the weights. Is fit and well placed. Should run a bottler at nice odds.

Tips: 1- 5- 9

1. The way that Gringotts won at Kembla last start with a big weight because he was so well ridden, and well, because he was the best horse makes me want to get on ROBUSTO here. So many similarities. Drawn perfectly and should run a huge race.

2. ACCREDITED beat him home last start when 2nd in the Hunter. Is in great form but meets Robusto 1.5kg worse and has a bad gate. Should be in it none-the-less.

3. PORT LOCKROY must be ready to run a big race. Drops in class and weight and is fit now. Is a Gr 1 winner.

Tips: 1- 4- 6

1. Tough race. REDSTONE WELL is getting very close to a win. Rattled home when 3rd in a similar race last start. Fitter now and suited here at the weights.

2. HUETOR is a Gr 1 winner. May not be in that shape anymore but he did catch the eye last start in a similar race when 4th. Should be running on now fitter.

3. GOD’S WINDOW is very fit. And, he has run a fast 2000m carrying 59.5kg in the past which means with this weight he must rate as a good show.

Tips: 9- 1- 13

1. I see BELLA MONTAGNA jumping straight to the lead and keeping on going. Resumes here but is strong fresh.

2. MAID OF MOOLAH is up in class a little but deserves to be having won 3 in a row. A mare in form… etc.

3. BLUE WILLOW was backed off the map when resuming last start and after a strange ride finished hard to grab 3rd. Looked a Black Type in the making and this should suit now fitter.
