A Day At The track – Rosehill 19 July

1. Such a tough race to open the card with. Hard to assess. But, I kinda think the Waller camp believe this maiden ROYAL AIR FORCE may have talent. Resumes here after being thrashed on debut but trials recently say he can gallop. Each way first up.

2. Loved the speed and fight SAPLING showed at the provincials last start. Won that day and this may not be any tougher. Will be on speed all the way.

3. CRIMSON WINGS has speed also whiuch she showed win a recent city trial. Watch market.

Tips: 7 – 10 – 9

1. This ROLLING MAGIC is a good horse and looks grades better than these. Is 2nd up here on his home track. Will get back but will storm over the top of them late.

2. DENMAN STAR is improving every start and is another who likes to find his feet. Knows how to win and will also be rocketing home late.

3. CLOSE ENCOUNTER is fully fit now and should be in this finish too. Meets African Daisy 2.5kg better for a 2 lengths loss to her last start. Has claims.

1. It would be appropriate if HIGHWAY STRIP was to win a Highway race in town and I think he will. He is Country Championships bound and resumes here. Drawn well and can really sprint late. Big show.

2. Mat Cahill comes to town to partner WASTED DAYS who he won handsomely on at Dubbo last start. Up in class here but he finished like a train to win and could do the same here. Did win easily.

3. Forget the poor run by SHROPSHIRE LAD this grade last start as he had previously been narrowly beaten this class. Expect a solid run.

Tips: 2 – 11 – 4

1. At the weights I like MAORI CHIEF. He’s trained here, is very fit and rattled home last start this grade when 3rd. Big danger.

2. DON’T FORGET JACK beat Maori Chief in that race last start but meets him 2.5kg worse off. I expect them to fight it out.

3. I know she is stepping up in grade but there is something about BELLA KHADIJAH that suggests she has talent. Nice win at Hawkesbury in the mud last start. Can run on.

Tips: 3 – 1 – 6

1. Lots of money overnight for Ciaron Maher’s pair, especially SPYWIRE who is 2nd up here. Caught the eye in a stronger race last start when resuming and 2nd. Big show because of that and the money.

2. The other Maher runner is AXIUS who is up in grade after a strong win last start. Is also 2nd up and improving every start.

3 I love a horse 3rd up and FLYING DESTINY is that horse here after a good 2nd last start. Fit and ready.

Tips: 5 – 10 – 2

1. There is more than a healthy boom attached to this girl TUILERIES. And the money overnight confirms it. Resumes here but looks nicely placed.

2. QUEEN OF THE MILE is 3rd up and is ready to pounce. Should receive a lovely run behind the speed here and has been supported.

3. Last prep USEAPIN was pretty handy and showing great promise. One run back was encouraging and should be in this finish.

Tips: 7 – 2 – 9

1. GOOD BANTER looked a good winter horse in the making with the way he stormed to win a 2000m race at6 this level last start. Extra trip should actually help him here. Big show.

2. I’m expecting ASSAILANT to go to the front and at nice each way odds lead them up and take some catching., Is 4th up and super fit now.

3. NAVAL COMMISSION doesn’t win many but does plug on gamely into a place quite often. Probably does in this too.

Tips: 3 – 7 – 4

1. STORM THE RAMPARTS deserves a crack at this level. He’s very fast, very consistent and is in supreme form. Will be in this for a long time.

3. SEMILLION hasn’t done a thing in a while but when he does fire up he runs brilliantly. Will be huge odds both worth a place ticket. Is trained here.

3. OUR KOBISON has a ton of pace when he’s right and is second up here. At his best he can lead all the way.

Tips: 8 – 9 – 4

1. So many things point towards ROBUSTO in this. He’s 3rd up, goes well this track, and is back in form. Drawn perfectly too. Big show.

2. I suspect we will see a big improvement from SALTCOATS in this. Down on the minimum, is very good 2nd up which he is here and could swamp these. The pace will be on in earnest which should suit him.

3. PHEARSON is fast and will set a solid pace. Is also very fit and weighted well enough.

Tips: 1 – 11 – 8

1. You would hope that consistency plays out here. CLOUDLAND beat a few of these last start and won at this grade coming from a mile back at this track. Lots in his favour so if he runs like that he lands the cash again.

2. KERGUELEN is hot and cold. Has a devastating finish on his day. Is 4th up here. Has won this track and likes it damp. If he gets to the outside he can sprint by them all.

3. BUNKER HUT is consistent at this level and was a good 4th this grade when resuming last start. Place show.
