A Day At The track – Randwick

1. MISSILE SEEKER was deep yet strong late when beaten half a length by Rush Attack in a very similar race last start. He meets him 5kg better this time and should appreciate this extra 100m.

2. PROMITTO led in that race and was just a head away from Rush Attack at the end. He meets him 2kg better and being 2nd up now looks much fitter. Big show.

3. RUSH ATTACK did sit wide also that day yet gutsed it out to win. He is also fitter now that he’s 3rd up. Great hope.

Tips: 10 – 1 – 4

1. Godolphin’s ZEITUNG is exciting when right and resumes here. Did win first-up last prep and although they will go like the clappers here, I suspect that suits her as she will slot in. Should be strong late.

2. Lots of each-way money has come in on Friday for last start winner CATCH THE GLORY who rises in grade here. Has won 2 of 3 this time in, albeit Midway grade but knows how to win.

3. Topweight PERSPIRATION has the bad gate but has the best form. Should make their presence felt too.

Tips: 3 – 7 – 1

1. BEL MERCI was caught in the ruck when resuming and failed to run on in what was a very disappointing display last start. Is very fast and may press forward here but no money for her on Friday which is a worry. Still, she is fitter now and is very good when she is on.

2. Conversely, Melbourne filly INKARUNA has done nothing but tighten up on Friday. She is unbeaten with her only start being at stakes level too where she finished hard over 1000m to win. Should be suited this journey.

3. This will be a lot harder than winning on debut at Eagle Farm but DUSHENKA did it very easily and impressively. And, it was 1200m. Keep her safe.

Tips: 1 -2 -4

1. Everyone is scratching their heads re this race because nothing has firmed on Friday. And, despite 4 x Gr 1 races in Australia on Saturday, this is perhaps the best event. I like BEIWACHT. He couldn’t have been more impressive winning the Gr 2 Silver Slipper over 1100m last start and his improvement curve has been quite stunning. Bad draw here but if he gets in one off somewhere he will shake things up.

2. WODETON, the current easing Golden Slipper favourite, was wide all the way in the Silver Slipper and to run 3rd, making ground late, was a great effort. He is so good and must be respected.

3. NORTH ENGLAND resumes here. He is very fast. His trials have been exemplary and he probably leads these for a very long way.

Tips: 4 – 5 – 1

1. She has the biggest weight but boy does she boast the best form of all these. I’m talking about HINGED who is 2nd up here. If she is at her best she wins comfortably. Likes it damp too.

2. WINGS OF DESIRE is desperate to get some Black Type next to her name as she would become one of the most expensive fillies in the land. Her big sister is Winx and she can run on into a place here if all goes well. Even effort when resuming last start in BM 72. Fitter now.

3. IT’S A KNOCKOUT is lightly raced but seems very promising. Has a bad alley here but can go forward and should be outside the lead all the way. Is tough late also. Has strong claims.

1. Speedsters galore here but I’m putting my trust in the old warhorse MAZU. He is 2nd up here and goes well 2nd up. Plus, despite this being a good Gr 2 race, he is down in class and will relish this. Likes it wet under foot too which he gets. Looks a great winning chance and Jason Collett is riding superbly of late.

2. KIMOCHI is better known for her talents in longer races but her versatility isn’t applauded enough. She is a Gr 1 horse every day of the week and being first-up here I suspect she gets back and charges late.

3. I AM ME was woeful when resuming but is much better than that. Perfectly drawn here, probably sits back in 3rd and should improve a great deal.

Tips: 1 – 10 – 9

1. BROADSIDING is too good for his peers.

2. Only horse that gave any sort of challenge to Broadsiding when he resumed over 1400m last start was SWIFTFALCON and I suspect he will be near last for home but dash home late again.

3. LINEBACKER is trained here and is smart on his day. Ridden too quietly last start when 6th to Broadsiding but is much better than that. Big show.

4. The filly AELIANA is all heart. She will charge late too and could easily run home into 2nd spot. Was 3rd to Broadsiding last start.

Tips: 1 – 2 – 3 – 9

1. It’s a tough race but something has to win it and I think on his day the youngster SWITZERLAND is world-class. Ran 4th in the Gr 1 Lightning in Melbourne when resuming. Had previously toyed with his rivals to win the Gr 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes over 1200m. Should be back about 5th to the bend and sprint too fast late.

2. His stablemate MILITARIZE is resuming from a year-long break. Failed to fire at stud so has been gelded. Normally, when colts are gelded, they run like the wind. Expect him too also.

3. CEOLWULF is all quality. Finished next to Via Sistina last start when resuming in the Gr 1 Apollo and she has franked the form since. Will loom large in this.

4. STEFI MAGNETICA resumes here, is a Gr 1 winner and loves racing fresh.

Tips: 12 – 4 – 1 – 11

1. When WARMONGER won the Gr 1 QTC Derby by a huge margin, the track was more than a little damp underfoot. I suspect he gets the same conditions here. Hasn’t done much since that Derby win mid last year, however, so take on trust but he can stay.

2. OUR ANCHORAGE is just a warrior and he’s won the right to run here following 4 wins on the bounce. He gets up on pace and is just too fit. This is hardest test but he is game.

3. VALIANT KING hasn’t done a thing for well over a year and may not here either, but, these are the conditions he likes and he will be massive odds. Place show.

1. CLEAR THINKING is a star in the making. Went down by half a length in very fast time for 1200m last start, suffering her first ever defeat at the hands Inhibitions. Is 3rd up now and should flash home over these late.

2. COMMEMORATIVE was in that race too and ran 3rd. She meets Clear Thinking a few kilos better at the weights and will strip fitter. Big show as she has been well backed on Friday.

3. ARCTIC GLAMOUR never seems to win but is always around the placegetters in stronger races so rates a big show here .
