A Day At The Track – Randwick 6 September

1. This 3YO filly CHANGE MY ADDRESS looks thrown in here. She has just one win on her resume, but it was on a wet track and last start she was a solid 5th in the Gr 3 Silver Shadow. Fitter now and on home track in a weaker race with no weight. Get on.

2. DENMAN STAR is pretty consistent and has Jay mac steering. Is 4th up and drawn the fence so must be a threat.

3. TENBURY WELLS resumes here after a campaign that was pretty average. but, is down in grade so expect a bold showing.

Tips: 9 – 1 – 4

1. Very interesting race. NIMBLE STAR is very talented and honest. Is 3rd up here after 2 really good runs and has drawn to be in this all the way. Has won in the wet.

2. SO MAGNIFICENT has raced 4 times for 3 wins, all his past 3 runs and he is still a stallion so there must be a great deal of faith in this bloke. Been carrying big weights in the bush and winning easily. Fit and ready.

3. This is a rise in class for the unbeaten ZUMBO but she has a lot of speed and might well be better than these. Only raced twice but shows great depth and does run well in the wet.

2 – 5 – 15

1. HUSK has good form first up and is resuming here. Did win a trial recently. Last prep led at 1400m and was 2nd in stakes race at Flemington. Must be considered.

2. Fresh form counts for plenty when resuming and ISLAND DEC seems to have a history of racing very well first-up. Resumes here.

3. KIMBERLEY SECRETS is a bit hit and miss but is good enough to win this when her mind is on the job. Was impressive winning first-up last start similar race.

Tips: 1 – 8 – 2

1. This bloke CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD is talented and tough. He gets up on speed and just keeps grinding away. Did that last start when underdone and 2nd this level in Melbourne. Jay Mac rides and looks a great bet.

2. TRAVOLTA won a shorter race really impressively last start and has been heavily backed. Super fit and should run on.

3. MUKAMIL is up from Melbourne with very solid and consistent form at this level. Finished alongside Changingoftheguard recently. Place show.

Tips: 1 – 8 – 6

1. FLYING BANDIT is probably on form thus far shown, the best horse in the field. RResumes here from a great gate and jas very good fresh stats. Has claims.

2. SUN ‘N‘ SAND was given a solid hitout last start when fading 7th. Should strip a lot fitter now and can show up. Won 2nd up last prep in an easier race.

3. This LORD PENMAN was a good 2nd in a similar arce when resuming. Had finished last prep with 4 wins from 5 starts. Has been backed.

Tips: 2 – 8 – 9

1. WITHIN THE LAW is very smart but better than that she is consistent. Horror draw here means she has to drop out to near last but she does possess a great finishing burst and this track will suit. She has raced here 6 times for 2 wins and 4 placings. Is 2nd up here and meets Savvy Hallie 2kg better for losing to her last start by less than a length.

2. Obviously SAVVY HALLIE is the danger as she is very reliable and well up to this grade winning the Gr 2 Silver Shadow from Within The Law in the mud last start.

3. MEMO is a bit hot and cold but is trained here and on her day she is best horse in this field. Have in your numbers.

Tips: 1 – 3 – 4

1. CEOLWULF is a gun this trip. Great 4th when resuming and is a multiple Gr 1 winner. Must be in your numbers as he flies late.

2. ARAPAHO is a genuinely fine Gr 1 racehorse. He sprinted brilliantly to grab 3rd in what was a slightly tougher race than this when resuming last start. Fitter now and will love the milke here.

3. FULL COUNT FELICIA hasn’t done a thing since coming from Australia but she races a bit like Pride Of Jenni when she is right. Is 2nd up here and may take off with a big lead at big odds.

Tips: 2 – 1 – 12

1. Tip top race. Should be a Gr 1. Is worth $1m this year. It’s hard to go past LADY SHENANDOAH. She has been labelled a superstar since she started racing and now 7 races later she has won 5 and placed the other 2 for $1,804,500 in prizemoney. Won at Gr 1 level three times last prep. Races particularly well this trip too.

2. JIMMYSSTAR is a bonafide star sprinter and is a 2 x Gr 1 winner. His last start was here and he claimed the 1400m Gr 1 All Aged Stakes. Is devastating first-up winning 5 of 6 races. Will make this favourite work.

3. HEADWALL didn’t win a race from 4 starts last prep but placed in some major events and has proven he is a star in this grade. Will get back but should run on.

Tips: 4 – 1 – 5

1. Draw doesn’t suit PRIVATE EYE – unless he flies out and leads which he did when resuming last start in a similar race. If he is back to his best he beats these comfortably.

2. SWIFTFALCON is a professional placegetter, well was last campaign,  but this prep he is older, wiser, and stronger. Expected to get back but can and should flash home.

3. MILITARIZE resumes here. Once was a superstar, but since being a failure at stud, and then being gelded he hasn’t put in. A big spell, and Jay Mac to ride suggests he may return to something like his best here.

5 – 15 – 1

1. Gai and Adrian present the mare DOMINETTA here first-up and after her latest trial she looks nicely placed. Should be on speed all the way.

2. BAUHINIA is lightly raced but show a lot of class. Should improve on his solid 5th in similar affair when resuming.

3. SCINTILLA also resumes. Did win 3 on the bounce last prep and was improving every run. Big show.
