A Day At The track – Randwick 20 Sepetmeber

1. Employing the use of the 2kg claim that Braith Nock brings to this race may well swing this in the favour of KINGSTON CHARM. He was 2nd in a BM 78 last start and it was a top run late. Here he is down in class…and weight!

2. MONKHANA has been very honest and consistent in similar races this time up and must be regarded.

3. Despite being 2nd up CLAIM THE CROWN looks well placed here, especially after the 2kg claim. Great run last start.

Tips: 2 – 4 – 1

1. These Highways are so tough. SOCIAL CIRCLE is looking for bigger fish to fry and if so the unbeaten run she has enjoyed may continue. Well bred, is very fast and should lead from this gate despite a rise in class.

2. This bloke SPARKLENGLITTER is also unbeaten in 5 starts and is lightning in a jar early too. BUT, has a bad gate and so probably sits on the outside of the filly. Great battle down the running.

3. MASTER OF DISGUISE has the fence draw and resumes here. Has good first up stats and goes forward. Will sit 3rd behind these leaders and can finish.

Tips: 15 – 13 – 4

1. JUNQUEIRA is a strong-finishing mare who resumes here. Did good job last prep placing in a much stronger race and has had 3 trials to get her in shape for this.

2. DISNECK is 3rd up and in this exact grade with this same weight was beaten a length last start. Fitter now.

3. SERGEANT MAJOR is 2nd up but has been a market mover overnight so take that into consideration.

Tips; 4 – 2 – 8

1. After two handy runs when resuming, latest when 5th on a track that didn’t suit, I think BAUHINIA flies home from the back and wins this.

2. DOMINETTA was very heavily tried to win a similar race when resuming and battled on gamely for 3rd. Needed the run and strips fitter now.

3. DANCE TO THE BOOM is fast and was 4th last start when resuming getting weary late. Fitter now and drawn perfectly.

Tips; 10 – 15 – 14

1. A terrific edition this year. People keep finding reasons to leave ARAPAHO out but he is racing so well in harder races that I just cannot ignore him. Is 3rd up here and looms large to me.

2. I do think it will be fast early and this import FULL COUNT FELICIA can lead like Pride Of Jenni on her day. Two starts this prep have been average but if she leads she may run away with it.

3. VAUBAN is top grade on his day and he needed the run this class when resuming and 3rd. Expect avery bold showing now that he’s fitter.

Tips: 1 – 5 – 3

1. The way APOCALYPTIC won against a similar field last start you just have to have her. Looks a superstar in the making and is only fitter now.

2. I think the state of the track and how it will play suits WITHIN THE LAW here. She is 3rd up so much fitter and will be rattling home from last at the bend.

3. TUPAKARA resumed and was 2nd to Apocalyptic when resuming last start coming from last at the bend. Trip suits here. Still a maiden though.

Tips: 1 – 3 – 2

1. If ROYAL PATRONAGE runs, I think he is a special. Jumps out, crosses, leads and wins for fun.

2. TAVI TIME improves every prep and this looks like a good one for him too. Resumes here but is very honest.

3. YELLOW BRICK is a Gr 1 horse who is 2nd up here and drawn well. Big weight but has earned it.

Tips: 17 – 5 – 2

1. I think you just have to go for FANGIRL here. She is 2nd up and always runs well 2nd up. She loves this trip and there will be enormous pace early, especially if Royal Patronage starts, so she should sit back and charge late.

2. PRIVATE EYE is ready and will be suited here 3rd up no matter how they run the race. Is flying at present.

3. CEOLWULF loves this track and trip and if it plays fairly, it will give the backmarkers a chance this time. That said, if it does it benefits this bloke the most.

Tips: 11 – 3 – 1

1. This is a great lead in to The Everest so it will be hotly contested. How good is PRIVATE HARRY? Well, he’s unbeaten in 5 starts and looks to be on pace all the way here. May even be able to control the race. I think he’s the real deal.

2. BRIASA will get back but can finish like a rocket and if they put some speed on, which they will, he should be suited.

3. JOLIESTAR is all class and a genuine Gr 1 horse on her day. Trouble is she gets back in the ruck and if Private Harry is flying alone in front she may not catch him.

Tips: 2 – 1 – 4

1. QUIETNESS looks thrown in here, especially after the apprentice allowance. This is her 2nd campaign in Australia and is now trained here. Big threat to flash home.

2. Bush horse SUNSHINE LAW is showing great promise and carries no weight. Is fit and tough.

3. LORD PENMAN is honest and Jay Mac rides. Is 2nd up in Australia and will get the run of the race from this gate. Big threat.
