A Day At The Track – Flemington 5 July

1. There is a great deal of evidence to suggest this bloke BACASH might be very good. He is getting better with every run and his win at the provincials last start had top horse written all over it. Looks too good for these.

2. CLOISTERS resumes here. Was showing good finishing power in a few runs last prep. Should run boldly.

3. JIMMY RECARD is very well bred and the breeding stood up at the provincials in Sydney last start when he won like a smart horse. Sure to be well supported.

Tips; 1 -2 -3.

1. Looks to be a stayer of the highest order in the making. That’s BUCCLEUCH. Won well in town last start extending beautifully late. Big show.

2. Really liked the way this well named Godolphin colt BAYOU MUSIC is progressing. Only a provincial win last start but he did it with authority. Has claims.

3. ARCORA made good ground late last start when 2nd to the smart Buccleuch. Was beaten 2.2 lengths and meets the winner 2.5kg better. Will be fitter too.

Tips 1- 2 – 3

1. MARBLE NINE is in career best form and did carry more weight and ran down a good one in Cleo Cat here last start over 1100m. Up[ in trip here which should suit and is absolutely flying at present.

2. He’s getting on a bit in years now but JOYFUL FORTUNE just loves this track so must be in your numbers also. He resumes here and has great fresh stats also. Will be in firing line for a good while.

3. PEREILLE has always been just shy of the top grade yet has made a great career out of it winning $531,000 thus far. Is fitter now after a faiur effort at randwick last start. Suited this track.

Tips: 2 -1 – 3

1. SANTA ANA MOON is and up and coming type who sizzled home over 1400m to win last start. I can see this bloke in the Greys race on Melbourne Cup day. He is improving all the time and is bred to appreciate this journey.

2. Consistency in a racehorse is such an admirable quality and this bloke KALKALLO is very honest and consistent. Won over 1400m in 3YO company 2 runs back and last start gave them all weight and was beaten a head over 1400m again. Looms large this journey.

3. FROM A DISTANCE is another lightly raced who can run with this crowd and is on the improve. Will appreciate this journey and can finish.

Tips: 2 – 1 -6

1. Good money has come along for BOLD SOUL to win this. He has won twice here but yet to be tried at this trip. Saying that, the stable is renowned for producing quality stayers. Is very fit.

2. VIRTUOUS CIRCLE has taken time to find form but last start 4th at this level behind Bold Soul says he is ready. Meets that horse 1.5kg better also.

3. Last week over 2000m CAPTAIN ELECTRIC met with both and ran 7th. Is on the quick back-up and goes up 500m which should help.

Tips: 4 – 3 – 10

1. Is she just a nice winter filly or is SHE’S AN ARTIST headed for greatness? We find out a lot in this when she tackles stakes grade for the first time but my early thought is – she is extremely smart and wins this easily.

2. SOFT LOVE runs her heart out every start and last time she raced she was 10th at the clock tower here and stormed home for 2nd over 1100m. Suited this trip and will run home gamely again.

3. If i’m right about the quality of She’s An Artist who I think wins easily, then the horse she beat home last start, FIELDELO, comes into play for a minor role. She’s fit and tough.

Tips: 5 – 4 – 8

1. Absolute lottery – it’s harder to find the winner than the Melbourne Cup is. But, I’ll have a stab. I know he has a big weight but I sense there is a touch of class about POLITELY DUNN. He was beaten 4 lengths at Gr 1 level last start when 8th in the QTC Derby. Might well be a star in the making.

2. SHOCKLETZ is in great form and has done all things right at this level past 3 runs. If he can slot in from this awkward draw he is a major player.

3. ANTS is on the improve and won handsomely last start. Have in your numbers.

Tips: 1 – 2 – 5

1. YELLOW SAM is a mare in form and they must be respected. Has won her past 3 and is well weighted to do the same here. Sits with cover and explodes late.

2. DETONATOR JACK on past efforts is probably the best horse in the field but he is 2nd up, has a big weight and drawn terribly. No surprise because class is class.

3. POUNDING never wins but also never races poorly. Certain to be battl;inga way for a place.

Tips: 9 – 2 – 7

1. It’s very hard to go past winning form and STYLISH has that winning 2 of her past 3 and that has attracted very astute money overnight. Does look the one to beat.

2. MOLLYNICKERS has her fair share of supporters too. She is in form and very fit. Will love this track.

3. RUNNING BY gets the burden of bei9ng the top weighted horse but she is racing herself back into top form. Was good 2nd up last start when 3rd at this levekl. Is fitter.
