A Day At the track – Flemington 2 August

1. Love the improvement curve of this Sydney galloper CROSSBOW. He was beaten a nose by a good one last start and this long straight will suit his style of racing.

2. EXIT is a smart filly who won an easier race when resuming last start. Sure to run on.

3. HILLIER has the big weight but ran on gamely to win an easier race when resuming last start. Sure to plug home again.

Tips: 2 – 4 – 1

1. This import CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD comes to hand quickly and his first up 8th at this level was better than it looked. He was there with 200m to go and wilted late. Fitter now and should receive a very cushy run.

2. BOLD SOUL by comparison has been up a while and is very fit. Is retaining his form and did win handsomely 3 starts back in slightly weaker grade. Has claims.

3. CASINO SEVENTEEN gets the benefit of a 3kg claim which is a huge help and is 3rd up. Is the class of the field so if he shows up he can win.

Tips 2 – 6 – 1

1. You just cannot look past overnight money and plenty of it has poured in for DE BERGERAC. Drawn the centre so can go wherever the fastest part of the track is and is very fit.

2. OUR COUVER is 2nd up here after failing when resuming. Suited now and is fitter. Expectations are an improvement will occur.

3. EPIC PROPORTIONS has drawn wide so probably heads to the outside which may well be faster. Did win a slightly easier race last start and is sure to be handy.

Tips: 6 – 13 – 3

1. CALL TO GLORY comes into this race very fit and with a big weight advantage. Gets the 3kg claim here and wasn’t far away from Losesomewinmore last start in a  similar race. Meets that horse 3.5kg better.

2. So, we have to have LOSESOMEWINMORE in for 2nd. Is racing very well this prep in this class. Must be considered.

3. DOCUMENTARY is lightly raced but many believe there is a racehorse here and has met with backing overnight.

Tips: 6 – 2 – 9

1. AZTEC STATE will need the 3kg claim here but does look beautifully placed. Got back a mile in stronger race when 2nd up last start and was doing best work late when 5th. Is fitter now and down in class. Big show.

2. PARADISE STORM is promising but more importantly, is honest and consistent. Is 3rd up here after 2 placings in this grade.

3. The bottom weight MAISY is 2nd up here but did win 2nd up last prep and some rate her highly.

Tips: 1 – 9 – 18

1. He is very hot and cold but when he’s on he’s better than these. I’m talking MUNHAMEK who ran on well for 3rd this class last start. Looks back in great shape.

2. It has been a while since RUN HARRY RUN last won a race but is 4th up here and appears to have his foot on the till. Nice 4th this grade last start.

3. It’s hard to look past winning form and ZOU SENSATION has that, winning past 2, latest in great style against a BM 100 field. That’s good form for this.

Tips: 2 – 4 – 8

1. Very tough race to work out but I just sense KING OF ROSEAU while he is rising in grade, is in spectacular form. Has won his past 2 starts and if he runs like he did last start in a BM 88 at Rosehill, he can finish over these. Likes it wet too.

2. MARBLE NINE is in career best form winning his past 3 on the bounce and loves this track. But, he’s getting up in the weights. Likely leads and will try his hardest to hang on.

3. JOYFUL FORTUNE loves this  track and the grade suits too. Resumes here but he’s dab hand while fresh and has won 2 jump outs recently. Watch betting.

Tips: 10 – 2 – 1

1. Hard to imagine one can tips a horse with a 3kg kid on top, who was beaten out of a place last start and who will, even after the claim, lump 61.5kg on a wet track, but I am. I just think the drop in class and the track will suit EL SOLEADO who is 3rd up here.

2. Michelle and Patrick Payne have HARD TO CROSS flying and 4th up here, he looks well placed. Sure to ndash hard late.

3. ONE LONG DAY is very honest. This will be 2nd start from a spell after a good 2nd in easier race. Should be running on.

1. STYLISH has been backed, is the best horse in the race, is in form with a top jock on. Looks hard to beat.

2. The rails draw will suit HONOR GALORE who deserves a win. Has placed 2 of past 3.

3. ILLYIVY is the epitome of a mare in form. Rises 6.5kg on a really solid win last start in easier race. Hits the line hard.
