Open 3YO Hcp
1. A few things here point towards the filly FLUENT landing the cash. She has held her own in better races for one, and has the inside draw. Plus, she carries the least amount of weight.
2. This bush filly ONE HARD LADY may be very smart. Three starts three easy wins. Yep, up a long way in class here but winning form can’t be overlooked.
3. HARRY’S YACHT won just before a spell in class a little behind this. Then, when he resumed last start he beat a similar field so looks on the upward curve.
Tips: 8 – 6 – 2
Trevor Clarke 2YO
1. Still a little unsure as to how good HIGHVOL is but he must be trending in the right direction as he won a stakes race on debut. Only the good ones fo that. Up in weight but has probably even improved.
2. MALDINI was 3 lengths behind Highvol last start after winning the run prior., Is very fit and meets the toppie 3.5kg better here. Has claims.
3. WARRIOR SMILE has speed and led all the way to win over 1300m before leading a a strong 5th to Highvol. Meets him 3.5kg for a 1.5lengths defeat so has high hopes.
Tips: 1 – 5- 2
Gorman F & M
1. They started backing QUISEEN on Thursday morning and it just hasn’t stopped. Drawn perfectly here but up in grade. Saying that, she’s won 3 of past 4 and mares in form…
2. HEARCOMESTHESTAR sat off pace last start then charged late to win at Caulfield over 1100m in similar grade. Was first up then and should be fitter now.
3. Last prep LOVAZOU won a bunch of races and this time up she is ready. Last start was on speed when battling 3rd here over 1400m with this weight. Place hope again.
Tips: 10-2-3
Morrison 3YO Hcp
1. Plenty of money for KALKALLO who is a horse on the rise. Sat off speed and powered home to win a similar race last start and is fitter now. Looks too good.
2. RUE DE ROYALE doesn’t win often but does always run on and generally fills a place. Beaten only by Kalkallo in similar race last start at Caulfield.
3. SUGAR COAT is 3rd up here so is supremely fit now. Did run on when carrying no weight and 5th to Kalkallo. Suited this track.
Tips: 7 – 3 -10
Sir Henry Bolte 3YO
1. This young bloke SOMEWHERE has only raced 4 times and looms as one ready to just go bang now. He keeps getting better and last start in Adelaide he was 3rd over a mile in a similar, possibly better race. Bred to love this trip.
2. Kiwi stakes winner MUSTANG MORGAN has the job ahead with 60kg and this wide draw. probably drops back and runs home. Was 8th at Caulfield last time in strong time. Should like this track.
3. NAINO has been backed here but he’s stepping up in class as to opposed a few of these stepping down. is racing consistently though.
Tips: 2 – 1 – 12
Listed Hilton Nicholas
1. This excitement machine KING ZEPHYR looks the play. Has won 5 from 6 starts including last 4 in a row. Ran good time under 59.5kg last start when flying home to win here over 1400m. Drops 5.5kg but rises in grade. Still, the times he runs make him a special.
2. THE ASTROLOGIST finds himself in perhaps the easiest event he has been in for the past 4 years. Will be big odds but is capable.
3. LIM’S KOSCIUSZKO is from Singapore. He likes it longer having won 22 races BUT, his 1200m record is astonishing – winning 12 of 13 starts. Take on trust but is a proven winner.
Listed Andrew Ramsden
1. SMOKIN’ ROMANS is back in form and is a Gr 1 winner. Looks to sit with the lead and prove too swift late. Did that effectively last start.
2. MILITARY MISSION is now fit enough to make a race of this. Sat back last start and plugged on late. Will be around $41 and well worth a place ticket.
3. ATHABASCAN can stay all day and is very fit. Drops out early from this bad gate but long straight suits him. Big show.
Tips: 1 – 2 – 3
LV Lachal Open Hcp
1. SUPARAZI is racing like this looks perfect. Sat off speed in a similar race at The Valley over 1519m and was running on to grab 3rd. Bigger track suits and he is 4th up now, super fit and looms large.
2. POUNDING is reliable and always a threat at this level. Drawn absolutely perfectly too. Has claims.
3. It will be interesting to see where this apprentice gets CHORLTON LANE in the run. Awkward draw means the horse goes back looking to slot in. Is fit and was runner-up this grade last start. Track should suit.
Tips: 5 – 3 – 1
Murray Cox BM 84
1. Money for LIBERAMI who drops 5kg from last start impressive win over a mile. That was in easier grade but he runs on very hard and lighter weight will be advantageous.
2. If they punch up and hold TYPHOON HARMONY out early, he may be in trouble. Bad draw but has pace from the gate and I suspect he drives up. Was on speed when way too good in easier race at Cranbourne last start over 1800m.
3. LE ZEBRA was on speed when easy Bairnsdale winner 3 starts back over a mile on a wet track. Last start in BM 78 class at The valley was solid 4th. Has place claims.
