Palmerbet Racing Team previews Saturday’s Gr 1 thoroughbred race meeting at Morphettville. Here are our tips for all eight races on the card, including a big Group 1. Good luck, punters!

Rail Position: Out 2m on the main course from 1200m to w/p. Out 2m from 1000m to w/p other circuit
Track Condition: Soft 5

GO THE JOURNEY is resuming here but he goes well fresh and gets the beauty of a 3kg claim to help. Similarly CAMDUS although he doesn’t get the claim. Will run well none-the-less. EXALTED ADAM is racing well in weaker grade and should place here. Can show up again.

EXPERIMENTATION is a strong local star this grade and being 3rd up here off 2 strong runs this campaign, rate highly for this. RASPBERRY ROSE is interesting. Generally gets back and runs over the top of rivals, but last start, in strongest test to date, was ridden to lead and won comfortably. Back in trip and up in grade here. We’ll see how good she is this time. I AM SOMEONE is lightly raced and those races have been in weaker class but has raced very well. Can place.

What a wonderful transformation this former NSW galloper TATOOSH has undertaken since finding his way to Will Clarken’s Adelaide stables. He’s become a happy horse again and has found his best 3YO form of a few years back. This is a tad short but he is racing so well he should be flying home. The Tony McEvoy pair of MANUEL and SET TO SPARKLE are in superb form also and loom as the major threats. Good race.  Watch the market.

Very even affair this one. But it’s hard to go past winning form, and TEQUILA TIME has won past 3 starts, beating most of these at Gr 3 level last start. Likes to lead and will do so again. Trip is only concern as it’s 200m longer than last start. FUNDAMENTALIST is in form and is strong and ran home to fail by a neck in beating Tequila Time last start. Can turn the tables. In that race, back in 4th spot but hitting the line the strongest was FAROOQ. Drawn to get a great run and is fitter now. Big danger.

PEACEFUL STATE is building a strong resume and is still a colt so connections need/want him to continue being a star. Has placed at Gr 1 level and looks many lengths better than these. SIRCCONI can get up on the steel and be competitive in this grade. Being 3rd up off a solid 4th this grade last start, reads well. Good each way hope. CANFORD is up in grade, will be around $151, but is showing talent. Place.

ENKI has been up a very long time but just doesn’t ever seem to sour or lose interest. Is always competive this grade. GRACENA gets a 3kg relief here and is in career best form. Being under the limit here reads really well. TATANTINO is up in class here but will get a good run and that helps here.

 Tip: ENKI

Can autumn form from the eastern states hold up against the tide of new talent on the blocks? TANGLED was placed twice at Gr 1 level in the autumn, once in the ATC Derby when producing a dashing run from last. That effort should win this comfortably, but LEICESTER and REZEALIENT and the Kiwi HIGH SHERRIF bring new form lines to the game. Great and fascinating race, especially as St Leger winner, RUNAWAY, will set a cracking tempo all way.

Tip: 1. TANGLED, 2. Leicester, 3. Runaway, 4. High Sheriff

It would be a wonderful gesture for racing and an emotional moment for Clare Lindop if she could win the last race here, her last ride at an Adelaide carnival. But she’s on SO YOU TOO who is out of form. He’s finished with last 2 horses at each of his past 3 runs and has drawn gate 22 to boot, but will step from 19 with scratchings. That makes it almost impossible. However, if he found his best and if the Good Lord willed it, the horse is capable enough of winning. DESERT LASHES was ordinary when resuming but has talent and is drawn beautifully plus has 3kg relief. BRYAN has great draw and is 3rd up in a race he should run well.
