Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Gunnedah meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!
Track: Soft 6
This is an interesting affair because we have one that trialled like a star recently. His name is DURNSTEIN and off that trial, bearing in mind also that his only racetrack appearance was a really solid 3rd at this level, it would suggest he has a major hope here. Just looks to have grown and covered the grown so easily in his Grafton trial when 2nd. Gets all the favours here too off this great draw. Looms as a good bet and a quinella play also because I think the unraced filly MISS ESPIONAGE also has a bit of talent. Obviously, watch the betting re the pair of them but I truly did like the trial of Durnstein.
Tip: DURNSTEIN
Again, wet track form is what I’m seeking at this meet and this cleverly named filly KAMBUNDJI is well represented in that area. She has raced just twice with a solid, easy win in a weaker Non-Tab maiden last start but she gives the impression this journey will suit her more. The wide draw may cause an issue unless she drives forward to find cover and not race three deep but her main rival WONDERWHEN has drawn even deeper so she may be able to keep her posted. Kambundji is by Swiss Ace and one of the fastest 100m runners in the world right now is the Swiss sprint champion Mujinga Kambundji who will be one of the stars at next week’s World track and Field championships. Quinella them.
Tip: KAMBUNDJI
I do think coming back in class, and coming back in journey as well as being 3rd up so is fitter now, will benefit PUERTO RICO a great deal in this. Can lead throughout this afternoon. As long as the track doesn’t turn heavy.
