Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL previews Saturday’s Gold Coast meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Soft 6
Rail Position: True Entire Circuit.
SNITZIFY was beaten less than a length at Doomben two starts back then started favourite last start and was plain. If he can find form from two back he can win this.
MIX made some late ground on the heavy first-up but was never close enough. Much better from the outing and inside gate a bonus.
SIBAAQ is the big query making his Australian debut. He has shown enough in his trials to suggest he has adapted to conditions in Australia and he can win this.
NIEDORP returns from a break. She has a super first-up record (8:3-2-2) and although drawn a touch wide happy to have something on her at each way odds.
REMLAPS GEM will rightfully be sent out the favourite. Made it three in a row when he raced on the speed and won here last start. No reason he cannot win again.
LYRICAL GIRL was enormous winning first-up at Doomben after a wide run. Found Listed company a bit hot last start and back in right race here looks well placed.
YOUNGBLOOD finally broke through for a well-deserved win at Doomben last start. Now he has won he can go on with it here.
STARDOME looks ready to win again. Placed in three runs since winning at Toowoomba. Always competitive in this class and he will be in finish again.
SOPRANO SUPREME brings some solid Kiwi form across the Tasman. She has won three of her last four starts and cannot leave her out of winning chances.
NETTUNO has done nothing wrong winning both starts by clear margin. Looks to have untapped ability and from ideal barrier he looks the winner.
LONDON resumes from a spell. He was in the market in Sydney on debut but covered extra ground and finished just out of placings. Trialed since and will be better this campaign.
STROLL finished the race off strongly to win on debut then she hit the line hard before break. Fresh for this and would not leave out of winning chances.
APRIL RAIN got well back and never went a yard on the heavy ground at Randwick first-up. She may get a better surface here and would not be surprised to see her win this.
CAFÉ ROYAL comes north in super form. Won last couple on heavy ground in Sydney and if she finds similar conditions will go close to winning this.
YAMAZAKI resumes from spell. She always races well fresh (8:1-1-2) and although racing pattern suggests she needs some luck she will be steaming home late.
Tip: APRIL RAIN
GYPSY GODDESS comes back home after two Group 1 placings in New South Wales. Brave on the heavy in the A.T.C. Oaks last start and that form would see her winning this.
CANADIAN DANCER is racing in super form winning three of four starts this time in. Handles all conditions and she can measure up to this.
SECRET TALES does step up sharply in class but she demolished them at Sunshine Coast last start and from inside gate must consider.
Tip: GYPSY GODDESS
PRINCE OF BOOM looks to have come back in super form and made it two from two this campaign with soft win here last start. Should cross and lead these and will take catching.
SWORD OF STATE comes across the Tasman first-up. Won both starts in NZ last time in work and that was in Group 3 company. Drawn ideally and he can measure up to this.
ALPINE EDGE resumed on the heavy ground in the Mick Dittman and had some excuses losing a plate. Fitter and he has the talent to be right in the mix.
Tip: PRINCE OF BOOM
ZAAKI looks bit better than these. All Star Mile winner two back then was so brave in the heavy last start. Meeting these at weight-for-age and should be too good.
Liked the return of HUETOR on the heavy ground first-up at Randwick when he ran into minor placing. Hard to see him matching Zaaki but he is on the up and can sneak a place.
AYRTON made impressive return to racing with a win at Caulfield. First try getting out to this trip but he looks to have matured and should be able to handle it.
SHOOTING FOR GOLD started favourite at Eagle Farm first-up from spell and just found one better late. He strips fitter from the outing and second-up record is super (4:3-0-0).
SALATEEN resumes from break. Usually finds her best form when fresh (4:2-0-0). Has had a trial to get forward for this and although drawn wide would not dismiss.
ORBISYN is unbeaten in four starts. He gets into hardest race he has seen but did enough in recent Deagon trial to suggest he is forward enough for this.
