Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Eagle Farm meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Soft 6
Rail Position: Out 7m entire circuit
Eagle Farm R1 – Class 6 Plate 1000m
SHAMATON just found one better final stages two starts back then was not beaten all that far on the heavy last start. He looks close to a win and gets chance in this.
TARA JASMINE resumes from spell. She is unbeaten in all three first-up tries. She won four of her six starts last time in work and will go close in this.
BOOMNOVA showed her usual speed and fought them all off final stages to win here first-up. She will be better from the outing and the one to catch again.
Tip: SHAMATON
Eagle Farm R2 – Members’ Handicap (Group 2) 1600m
ALNASEEM is the big query making her debut in Australia. She has shown form in her Australian trials winning most recent at Randwick. She might be too good for these.
DERULO won at the Gold Coast first-up from break then he has been good in both runs back. Expect him to be right in the mix again.
DIAMIL won on the heavy ground at Warwick Farm three starts back then he has worked home late in last couple. Should get perfect run in transit and will have last crack at these.
Tip: ALNASEEM
Eagle Farm R3 – Chairman’s Handicap 2143m
DJUKON comes into this ready to find best form third-up from spell. He was beaten just on a length in the Tails Stakes last start and although drawn wide is ready to win.
YONKERS did not have all that much luck late in the Neville Sellwood last start and just did not finish off in the heavy ground. Would not leave him out of chances.
OUR INTRIGUE is third-up from spell. Fought the race out solidly when beaten less than 2 lengths here last start. Will get ideal run and cannot dismiss.
Tip: DJUKON
Eagle Farm R4 – Three-year-old Plate 1400m
STARTANTES was making good late ground when just missed placing in the Victory Stakes first-up. She gets out to ideal distance of 1400m and can win.
MINSK MOMENT finished too well and got the job done here last start. Drawn a touch wide but he will be in finish again.
EL VENCEDOR is the big query crossing the Tasman for the first time. Won his last two back home and must always respect stable when they come to Australia.
Tip: STARTANTES
Eagle Farm R5 – Spirit Of Boom Classic (Group 2) 1200m
CAPITAL TOWER is unbeaten in all three starts. Much too good winning only start at Toowoomba last time in work. He can measure up to this.
SANDPAPER resumes from a break. Did not get through the heavy ground in the Skyline before break. Won trial leading into this and although drawn wide must consider.
EXO LADY returned in winning form when led throughout to win here last start. She will strip fitter and no reason cannot win again.
Tip: CAPITAL TOWER
Eagle Farm R6 – Bright Shadow 1200m
BABYLON BERLIN is a quality Kiwi mare crossing the Tasman. Never runs a bad race and if stable have her forward enough for this she may just be too good.
JUAN DIVA was strong to the line winning with something in hand at Caulfield first-up. Drawn to get the perfect run in transit and she can win again.
EAST ASIA resumes from a spell. She can produce a run fresh (4:1-1-0) and recent trial will have her forward enough to run a cheeky race.
Tip: BABYLON BERLIN
Eagle Farm R7 – Rough Habit Plate (Group 2) 2143m
Another Kiwi in PINARELLO brings solid form to Australia. Demolished a Group 2 field prior to crossing the Tasman and although drawn touch wide he may just be too smart for these.
CHARACTER was strong to the line holding on to win the Queensland Guineas last start. Won two of his last three and will be in finish again.
VERONA relished the heavy ground and got the job done at Randwick last start. That form good enough for this and likely to get wet surface again.
Tip: PINARELLO
Eagle Farm R8 – Doomben 10000 (Group 1) 1200m
MAZU is a promising gelding from the Peter and Paul Snowden stable. Been relishing the wet tracks in Sydney winning all four starts with ease. He can progress to Group 1 level here.
ENTRIVIERE is class Kiwi mare resuming in Australia. She is unbeaten in three first-up tries and won the G1 NZ Railway when fresh last time in work. She will be right in the mix.
COUNT DE RUPEE burst through and got the job done in the Victory Stakes here last start. No reason he cannot go on and win again.
KEMENTARI took small gap and finished hard to win first-up in the G3 Hall Mark Stakes. He will not mind if the rain persists and he can win again.
Tip: MAZU
Eagle Farm R9 – BM85 Handicap 1400m
PALLADAS had little luck here first-up from break when covered extra ground and just finished out of placings. Fitter and he can get away with this.
FLEXIBLE resumes from spell. She finished too well from long way back and won when fresh at Lakeside last time in work. She may find best first-up.
ULYSSES won at Doomben three starts back then he has not been beaten all that far in two runs since. Always competitive in this class and he will be in the mix.
