Horse Racing Tips & Previews – Caulfield | Sat 9th July

Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s Caulfield meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 9 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Good 4

Rail Position: Out 3m entire circuit

COTEL is a debutant from the Peter Moody stable who has looked smart winning a couple of jumpouts. Not many better than Linda Meech out front and she may just control this and win this.

AMEERATI is bred to get over a little further than this but she looked impressive winning Cranbourne jumpout and from inside barrier can figure in this.

IT’S MY TURN chased home a smart one at Geelong first-up from spell and that made it two placings from as many starts. Drawn wide but will be in the mix again.

Tip: COTEL

THE GENERAL was placed on the heavy ground at Warrnambool first-up from spell then not been disgraced in a couple of runs since. Drawn perfectly and happy to have something each way on him.

WHIPCRACKER WAY battled on strongly when beaten less than a length here two starts back then only battled in the heavy last outing. Barrier a concern but he can sneak a place.

DARALINA BELLE is threatening to return to the winners circle this campaign. Close up when placed in last two starts and from ideal barrier she gets her chance.

Tip: THE GENERAL

OCEANA BLUE has just been plain unlucky in recent starts. Should have won here two starts back then just fraction too far back at Flemington. Will get ideal run in transit and only needs run late.

ALVERDUN made it two in a row when finished the race off strongly at Flemington last start. Thriving on wet ground and no reason he cannot make it three straight.

MONTENEGRO has been dominating on the synthetic at Pakenham winning last three starts. Gets back on the turf but cannot knock winning form.

Tip: OCEANA BLUE

EAGLEMONT was trapped wide but still sprinted clear for soft win at Hillside two back then he went to Rosehill and was not disgraced. Drawn to get ideal run and can get away with this.

RUNNING CLOUD has been relishing the synthetic track at Pakenham winning his last couple with authority. Drawn bit wide coming to town but hard to knock his form.

REUBER can mix his form a little but thought he chased home well enough at Mornington last start and if he can hold that form may sneak a minor spot.

Tip: EAGLEMONT

Has not been a more impressive win of late than INUNDATION here last start when he sprinted quickly and put a space in them. If he produces that form he will put a space in them.

ATTRACTABLE resumes from spell. He won his maiden by over 5 lengths when first-up last time in work and he may find his best form when fresh.

JIGSAW won here two starts back then he struck heavy ground and pulled up with respiratory issues last start. He can bounce back in this.

Tip: INUNDATION

COMMANDS THE FIELD finished too well to win at Lakeside three starts back then since she has been close-up in placings. Racing consistently and happy to have something each way.

FORBIDDEN CITY resumes from a spell. She only has the one win but that was when first-up last campaign winning her maiden by 8 lengths. She can figure.

NO WAY EVER raced on the speed before sprinting clear final stages at Flemington two back then chased steadily when not beaten far last start. Barrier a concern.

Tip: COMMANDS THE FIELD

TURBEAU has been threatening to win a race this campaign. Placed in his last couple including at this track last start when beaten less than a length. Out to the 1700m ideal.

NONAME LANE was dominant winning in Adelaide two starts back then followed up with another win last start. Stable only cross the border when they can win and he must be included.

LYRICAL LAD made good late ground and got the prize here last start. He gets an extra 100m and no reason he cannot make it two in a row.

Tip: TURBEAU

OXLEY ROAD resumes from a spell. He flies fresh (3:1-2-0) and loves the Caulfield track. Expect he will drive through and sit on the speed and he will take catching.

BLESS HER was beaten less than 2 lengths in Listed company here three starts back before battling last couple. She will not mind some rain and from inside gate can figure.

ASHFORD STREET has been racing in consistent form having won three of his last four starts and deserves chance in this class.

Tip: OXLEY ROAD

Going to stick with TAVIDANCE. He is hard to catch but ran a slashing race when beaten less than a length at Flemington fresh and gets chance to go one better.

MYSTERY SHOT is threatening to win a race this campaign. Going to need some luck from a wide draw but he has the talent to win if he can get right run.

LACKEEN got well off them fresh and was making good late ground final stages. Still may need longer than this but will be hitting the line hard.

Tip: TAVIDANCE
