Belmont R1 – 2yo Plate 1000m

11:53 (local time)

STAR SOPRANO started favourite at Ascot on debut but he was found wanting last 200m. Won two trials leading into this and can win first-up from spell.

BOPPING BLUE led throughout for tough win here last start. Drawn bit awkwardly and may have to sit away from the fence but he can win again.

SAINTLY CITY is a debutant to keep an eye on. Been placed in all three trials and from ideal gate expect he will give this a shake.

BEADS sat up on the speed and just found one better here last start. Will get the perfect sit and should have last crack at these in the straight.

Tip: STAR SOPRANO

I’M PRETTY finished too well to win here first-up from spell. Will be better from the outing and she can finish all over the top of these.

OXBRIDGE kept grinding away here last start and although never looked the winner did run into a solid enough minor spot. Racing well enough to sneak into another placing.

SPEEDY MISS looked the winner when she found the front here last start but just found I’m Pretty a touch too strong final stages. Similar race and cannot leave her out.

LORD LONSDALE overraced last start and was found out over 2100m. Back in distance and from ideal barrier can see him being in this for a long way.

Tip: I’M PRETTY

TIMELY OUTBURST was only run down final stages by the impressive Graceful Girl here last start. Been racing in super form and she can get away with this.

FIRST LAW started odds on and finished too well to win here last start. Finds a slightly harder affair but still cannot be left out of winning chances.

ALL DAY SESSION was only getting going when the race was all over here first-up. He will be better from that outing and would not leave out of multiples.

VANE TEMPEST brings winning Pinjarra form to Belmont. Started favourite last start and she won accordingly. Third-up and she can measure up to these.

Tip: TIMELY OUTBURST

AGENT JAY was beaten less than a length by the smart Puli here last start. Comes into this ready third-up from spell and drawn perfectly. He goes on top.

DRINKWHATYOULIKE won at Pinjarra fresh then has been placed in next three starts. Gets her chance to return to winners stall in this.

Did not mind the way BEDOUIN BELLE battled on here first-up when not beaten all that far. Drawn perfectly and she can sneak into a minor spot.

SUNNYSILK won here two starts back then she stuck to her task last outing and only needs to hold that form to be right in the mix.

Tip: AGENT JAY

Well-deserved win for TIFF HAS SPOKEN here third-up from spell. Had been placed in two runs previously before proving too tough for them. He can go on with it here.

SOWAR finished the race off too well to win at Northam last start. Placed at previous start this track and he will be in the mix again.

TREASURED CROWN arguably would have been right in the finish if not held-up behind Tiff Has Spoken here last start. If he can get a bit more luck last 200m he can get away with this.

DEPUTANO was dominant winning at Pinjarra two starts back then battled on evenly at Northam last start. She is one at odds for first four players.

Tip: TIFF HAS SPOKEN

BROOKLYN PIER was dominant last 200m when sprinted quickly for soft win first-up. Only needs natural improvement and he can win again.

REFLECTIVITY is an interesting runner for new stable. Did not show much in the eastern states when racing in the Hawkes stable. Strong placing in recent stable and at big odds would not leave out.

RED PUBLISHER resumes from a spell. Getting into the veteran stage but he often produces a run fresh and may sneak into a placing at big odds.

MISS FROST had no luck here first-up from spell and was entitled to fade final stages as she did. Sure to be better from the outing and will be competitive again.

Tip: BROOKLYN PIER

AMASENUS is an exciting mare who returned to racing with a good tough win and she looked like she would take great benefit from the run. She can win again.

Thought EEYORE WAYZ should have finished a little closer to Amasenus here last start when only angled off heels late and made good ground. Drawn well and looks a danger.

SPECIAL CHOICE comes into this ready third-up from spell. Placed at Ascot fresh then was only getting going late last start. She can sneak into a placing.

COMES A TIME was a winner here two starts back then beaten less than a length behind Amasenus last start. Sure to be right in the mix.

Tip: AMASENUS

KERMAN ROCK was placed in WA Derby four starts back and his form since has been solid without threatening. Should get nice run in transit and at massive odds going to have a crack at each way value.

BILLY AIN’T SILLY was dominant from the front here two starts back then overran by the impressive Graceful Girl last start. No reason he cannot jump to the front and win again.

TRI FOR US has not finish any further back than second in her six starts. Thought she had her chance when odds on last start but still only just missed. Major player again.

THE VERDICT has won four of her last five starts. Likes to control her races from the front and if she can lead Billy Ain’t Silly and get left alone she will take catching.

Tip: KERMAN ROCK

COMFORT ME did not have all that much luck here last start but he was still good enough to go on and win. He comes into this third-up and can win again.

SERENITY BAY just got a fraction too far off them here last start but liked the way she was weaving a passage late and the step out to 1400m looks ideal.

MOSCHARD has been placed in three of his four starts this time in. Came from well back to fill minor spot in hot form race last start and he can measure up to this.

HOT ZED was brave here behind Chantorque last start when never gave up and not beaten far. Tenacious gelding who is always in the finish.

Tip: COMFORT ME
