Wagga R2 Mdn (Open) Hcp 1400m Â
On form shown to date it is hard to ignore the recent runs of OAHU GAZE. He has only had five race starts in his career, two this time up, and it is those last two that appeal. He made up good late ground when 2nd on the synthetic at Canberra over 1280m. That’s kinda like a tough 1400m which he gets here. Is 3rd up now and is ready to rumble. Has drawn perfectly as well so can be up in about 4th to the bend then his strength will kick in late.
Tip: OAHU GAZE @ $11.00

I’m looking for a reason not to like PONTMAIN in this and frankly, just cannot find one. If he brings his A-Game that $5.00 on offer is going to look like a glorious windfall. He’s won just once from four starts but has been placed in a Highway in town, and was a game 4th when resuming in better grade than this. Last start, when 2nd up and well tried, he didn’t run on at all and was beaten 6 lengths. Now, it could have been 2nd up syndrome, or the fact that was a tougher race. This is easier, he is 3rd up and super fit now.
 Tip: PONTMAIN @ $5.00
Wagga R6 – BM58 Hcp 1000m Â
Interesting race. There has been very good money overnight for CRIMSON HOFFA here. He’s drawn well, has in and out form but never performed on a wet track where as ESPECIAL COURAGE has. In fact, she has only ever run well twice in her life – a win at Werribee and beaten nose at Albury – both on very heavy tracks. She gets a heavy 9 here today and should sit back in about 7th, smoking the pipe until they swing, hook out wide and come charging late.
