Horse Racing Tips – Monday 30th May

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Doomben meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!

I love the look of UP TO ME in this. Today will be his 3rd race start and the improvement he showed between starts one and two was startling. Last start he flashed home from midfield at the Sunny Coast in this grade to grab 2nd, beaten a noise. Extra 200m is a big help this time. But what I liked was the fact he improved 6 lengths from his debut when 5th. Any sort of continuation of that improvement curve and he flies past them all late. CHAMPAGNE POP has talent too and was also placed last start so have her in for 2nd money.

Interesting race. This really looks a battle of the bad gates. But on this heavy track being drawn out there may be advantageous. I like HIGHER. He might be very fast. He’s had just two starts to date. On debut, was backed in to start $1.45 fav and did not complete the course. Was immediately spelled. When he returned 5 months later, a gelding, he was sent to the front at the Sunny Coast on the poly track and stayed there winning easily. This is many lengths harder but I think he will just go bang from this outside draw, come across, lead them a merry dance and and win. Big chance.

I’ve never really understood why they run this distance. Just move its back one metre and you get 1111m race. Anyway, to this event and I like the mudlark PLATINI. Formerly from Victoria where he won against better5 rivals in the mud. Has had two starts for new trainer Rob Heathcote and has failed to fire a shot but the track and trip suit today and he is a lot fitter. Has strong each way claims.
