Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews the Sapphire Coast meeting this afternoon, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 selected races. Good luck, punters!
Track Condition: Good 4
Rail Position: Out 5m from 800m to home bend
I like the look of the bottom weight here in RUBICK ISLAND. Today will be her 4th race start. After a great 2nd on debut at this level she has been down the track in both races since. Once on a quagmire so forget that run and last start when back in the ruck all the way. She went to make a run as they straightened and copped a bad bump. She was between runners and just didn’t like being where she was but did make nice ground late ending up 7th. It wasn’t a good run but the circumstances probably were more to blame. This trip looks to suit and has senior rider on today. Probably parks 5th to the bend and she can run on.
This may well be the first race in history where nothing in it can win! I think the best horse is ZARIZ NO OTHER although saying that he hasn’t been going hard of late in his races. They have been in better class though so I think the fact he’s back in class, will get a great run in 3rd to the bend here and gets a 2kg claim to help making him very, very well weighted on best form, might just wake the competitive juices within him. Worth a shot in this poor field.
I like last start winner KIRKTON here. He seems rather progressive having won his maiden then backing up straight away and winning his Cl 1 next start. He was spelled after that as he was showing signs of having a nice future. Given half the year off he is back and might be even better. Won a trial like a star recently. Watch betting.
Tip: KIRKTON @ $3.20
