Horse Racing Tips – Inglis Millennium 2YO

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at every runner in Saturday’s  Randwick  Inglis Millennium with horse racing tips for the first four. Read on to see how he maps and assesses the race. Good luck, punters!

1. SEJARDIN (9) 11x

T: Gary Portelli /J: Jason Collett (56.5kg)

Outstanding galloper at this level and loves this trip. Is lightly raced but is yet to be beaten. Can run on speed or sit back. When he finds his feet he has a devastating finishing burst. One of the best juveniles in the land. Big show.

2. EL PADRINO  (8) 21

T: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace / J: Jamie Kah (56.5kg)

Is on track to win a massive multi-million dollar bonus should he land this and one more Inglis race. And he is very smart. Will wind up down the centre of the track and will come hard. Respect him.

T: Team Snowden / J: Tommy Berry (56.5kg)

This bloke is very smart. Finished hard to win on debut then on speed after drawing very badly and yet was only beaten a head by the smart El Pardino last start. Drawn a lot better here and is on his home track. Will go close.

4. SWEET RIDE (2) 1

T: Annabel Neasham / J: Jean Van Overmeire (56.5kg)

Nice horse and is the type who sneaks up on everyone. He will jump and run and lead and will kick away as they straighten. That gives him a head start down the running and they will have to work very hard to catch him.

5. ATHLETICA  (11) 13

T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / J: Tim Clark (56.5kg)

Solid galloper who likes to get out and be with the pace all the way. Ran a game 3rd in a similar race to El Padrino last start and although on his home track here, he may struggle late as a few of these are on massive improvement curves. Place.

6. BOLDINHO (4) 24

T: Ciaran Maher & Dave Eustace/ J: Hugh Bowman (56.5kg)

Interesting galloper. Still a maiden after two race starts but caught the eye when flying home for 4th to El Padrino and Calgary Stampede last start. Freshened for this and the extra 100m should suit him a great deal.

7. POMADE (14) 1

T: Kris Lees/ J: Regan Bayliss (56.5kg)

Nice colt with a lot of early speed and has drawn perfectly. Went to Doomben on debut and was heavily backed. Led for home and just hung on to win 1050m over Bessmati who has talent. This is much harder but will run a cheeky enough race.

8. ZAMBEZI RIVER (12) 2x

T: Chris Waller / J: Josh Parr (56.5kg)

Entered and scratched form 4 races recently for this. Got back early but stormed home when impressive 2nd to Sejardan on debut in the Breeders’ Plate. Two trials have been sound and rates a place show.

9. EMPEROR (6) 3×3

T: Mat Dunn / J: Kerrin McEvoy (56.5kg)

Good horse on his day at this level. Led early when a game 3rd to Sejardan and Zambezi River, beaten less than 2 lengths by winner in Breeders’ Plate on debut. Spelled and came back with an eye-catching 3rd to Plymstock at Randwick when near last on bend. Could be the knock-out horse.

10. THE WIZARD KING (3) 87x

T: Shawn Mathrick /J: Sam Clipperton (56.5kg)

Victorian juvenile with some talent but should get run over in this.

11. FIRE AND ICE (16) 4

T: Mark Minervini /J: Tom Sherry (56.5kg)

Only had the one start and he made gradual and pleasing ground over 1000m to finish 4th. This extra trip and that experience under his belt keep him in this despite the class rise.

12. VADERZAN (1) 83

T: Gary Portelli / J: Rachel King (56.5kg)

Two starts to date have been in weaker races than this and he didn’t show up. Beaten over 5 lengths at Canberra last start.

T: Lauri Parker/ J: Jay Ford (56.5kg)

Is yet to race and two trials were average. Not likely.

14. PARIS D’OR (10) 21

T: Team Snowden / J: James McDonald (54.5kg)

Chased home a smart one on debut when just pipped by Man In The Mirror. Then toyed with rivals at Canterbury winning a midweek by a big margin. This its harder but she looks powerful.

T: Team McEvoy / J: Chad Scofield (54.5kg)

This may be a bridge too far. Is fast and led all the way to win on debut at Geelong but that was much easier than this.

16. THE SEVEN SEAS (15) 6

T: John Sargent / J: Robbie Dolan (54.5kg)

Interesting galloper. Started $51 in the Nursery won by El Padrino but was making headway late. Started from. a wide gate that day too so went backwards early. May rattle home if settles with cover.

17. NIPOTINO (13) 0x

T: John Thompson / J: Brock Ryan  (56.5kg)

Good trialled but never sighted on debut. Resumes here and can’t recommend.

Tips: 1. SEJARDAN,  2. El Padrino  3. Paris D’or  4. Calgary Stampede
