T: Team Gangemi /J: Jarrad Noske (58.5kg)
Outstanding galloper at this level and loves this trip. This will be his 6th visit to this great Gr 1 race. He retires at the end of this racing season and he may well go out on a high note. Resumed from a spell when 3rd to the great Elite Street here over 1000m, then ran 4th to the same horse last start in the lead-up race. Did flash home for 3rd in this race last year. Big show.
T: Dan Morton / J: Brad Rawiller (58.5kg)
Is just a super sprinter in the west and appears to simply be better than them all. From this marble he sits back in 6th with cover until they turn then he will unleash. Has won his past three beating most of these and just knows where the post is. Must be respected.
T: Steve Wolfe / J: Shaun McGruddy (58.5kg)
This bloke is a pretTy handy customer of his day and probably goes forward from this gate in this. First-up he was handy on pace all the way when beaten a length by Elite Street over 1100m. Should strip fitter here and will be in this for a long time.
T: Team Casey / J: Jordan Turner (58.5kg)
Nice horse on his day but two runs since spell have not been great. Not a factor when always well back behind Elite Street last start. Fitter now and has drawn a bit better but still not keen.
T: Team Gangemi / J: Craig Staples (58.5kg)
Solid galloper who likes to get out and be with the pace all the way. Beat Elite Street back in May this trip. Two starts since resuming have been useful efforts, both times just behind Elite Street, latest when fading 8th over 1100m. Goes very well this trip though and can show up at huge odds.
T: Nev Parnham/ J: Brad Parnham (58.5kg)
Interesting galloper. Going well and looks a chance here. Was on speed when 4th, beaten less than 2 lengths behind Elite Street and Rock magic when resuming then last start was 3rd yo Elite Street and Stageman when on pace all the way. Presumably is much fitter now and should be right in it.
T: Luke Ferrie/ J: Lucy Warwick (58.5kg)
Lost all form last campaign and resumes here. Not keen.
T: Bernie Miller / J: Pat Carberry (58.5kg)
Likes it longer but he is potent first-up and he looms as a bit of a dark horse. has beaten the likes of Rock magic and Money Matters in short races during his career. Will be out the back door but because the pace will be on, he should fly late.
T: Adam Durrant / J: Clint Johnston-Porter (58.5kg)
Good horse on his day at this level. Must be getting sick of the sight of Elite Street though having finished behind him at their past 4 outings. But not all that far behind. He probably goes back to about 12th here looking for cover but he can run on hard.
T: Jim Taylor /J: Jason Brown (58.5kg)
ran out of his skin at $151 last start when 5th to Elite Street. Meets him and the other a lot worse at the weights now.
T: Luke Fernie /J: Mitch Pateman (58.5kg)
Outstanding galloper on his day especially if the track is damp. Won three handicaps in a row hitting the line hard before last start stepping up to stakes grade. Ran a nice 6th to Elite Street, beaten 2 lengths over 1100m. has won this trip and can place.
T: Team Gangemi / J: Shaun O’Donnell (58.5kg)
Has speed and can run boldly on his day. Has won this trip. Won over 1000m in handicap at Belmont and last start at $51 was a solid close-up 3rd to Elite Street and Graceful Girl. Not suited at the weights though. Chance.
T: Bruce Watkins / J: Jason Whiting (58.5kg)
Useful handicapper but will struggle against these at this level. Not keen.
T: Simon Miller / J: Troy Turner (56.5kg)
Once a brilliant finisher but a 6YO now and hasn’t produced a powerful finishing burst at past 5 starts. Not keen.
T: Team Williams / J: Willy Pike (56.5kg)
Yet another Team Williams galloper with the pink and white silks who is quite brilliant. Was comfortably ploughing her way through the grades before not sighted here over 1000m in handicap. Redeemed herself with an astonishing run coming from 14th on bend to just miss catching Elite Street in the 1100m Gr 3 Colonel Reeve. The extra 100m here is in her favour too. Big show.
T: Dan Morton / J: Chris Parnham (56.5kg)
Interesting galloper. Might just be a superstar. Has won his past 5 in a row including last start over this trip in 1.08.58. That would win this and she carried 60kg that day. Looks the one. Remember that Western Empire carried this saddlecloth to win Gr 1 last week also.
T: Lindsey Smith / J: – (58.5kg)
May not get a run and from this gate would have to go back anyway. has talent but hasn’t beaten Wilchino at past two when getting weight from her so won’t be beating her home when giving weight.
T: Ash Maley / J: – (58.5kg)
Handicapper who can run on but this may test.
