Horse Racing Tips – Group 1 Robert Sangster

Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at every runner in Thursday’s  $300k Warrnambool Cup with horse racing tips for the first four. Read on to see how he maps his South Aussie classic. Good luck!

1. BELLA NIPOTINA (5) x1219x3023

T; Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace / J: Ben Melham (56.5kg)

Outstanding mare at this level and looks deliciously placed. If she runs up to her best she will win. Likes the sting out of the ground too. Is simply too consistent at this level to not be considered.  Must be in your numbers.

2. ROCH ‘N’ HORSE (9) x4221x0039

T: Michael Moroney / J: Jamie Mott (56.5kg)

In and out type who has won twice at this trip at Gr 1 level. Is very fit and on her day is too good for these. Was 3rd recently in Gr 1 Willian Reid this trip. Likely to run on hard late.

3. MARABI (7) 1x11115x8x

T: Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace / J; Ben Allen (56.5kg)

Is lightning in a jar and could easily, if she runs to her best, take the lead early and simply run away from these. Last 150m will be her test as she is resuming here but did win 7 races on the bounce including Gr 1 Oakleigh Plate last year. Has drifted in the market though.

4. ZAPATEO (11) x16144x011

T: James Cummings / J: Damien Oliver (56.5kg)

Is a very good sprinter and has won past two Sydney starts, at Gr 2 level, in dashing manner. Likes it wet or dry and just powers late. Will finish over the top of most of these.

5. SEPTEMBER RUN (14) 135x84x404

T: Chris Waller / J: Craig Williams (56.5kg)

Is a classy Gr 1 winning mare who just needs to time her run perfectly. If she does that she is a player. Did come home hard on the the inside when 4th in Gr 1 William Reid and is honest. Never far away.

6. PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE (1) 1111x4x10

T: Graeme Begg / J: Jordan Childs (56.5kg)

Stunning mare on her day with enormous talent. Won brilliantly when resuming against an equally strong field then tossed right in the deep end when fading out of the Gr 1 TJ Smith. Better suited here and now 3rd up will shake the life out of this. Caution has only been beaten twice, both times on a wet track over this trip.

7. ESPIONA (10) 81x640x611

T: Chris Waller / J: Micky Dee (56.5kg)

Is all class and is back in form. Won past two races including Gr 1 Coolmore at Rosehill over 1500m. Coming back in trip but has won this journey. Is brilliant on her day.

8. CHAIN OF LIGHTNING (8) 11310×3899

T:  Peter Moody /J: Luke Nolen (56.5kg)

Handy sprinting type who has form around the best of these previously but hasn’t been racing well of late.

9. LITERARY MAGNATE (3) 24323x123x

T:  Matt Williams /J: Dean Yendall (56.5kg)

Doesn’t race a lot but when she does she shows up. Resumes here and has a great fresh record. Gets back but can run on very hard. Watch for her late.

10. SERADESS (2) 5311x70x24

T: Team Kavanagh / J: Todd Pannell (56.5kg)

Handy mare who has won this track and trip in good time but that was a year ago. Recent form is ok but only 4th last start in the Gr 3 Irwin. Has pace so will be near the front.

11. DIAMONDS (6) 74x103110x

T: Chris Bieg / J: Teagan Voorham (56.5kg)

Is a good mare but is resuming here. Saying that she has good fresh stats and last December did win here this trip in fast time at stakes level. May sneak a place.

12. ANOTHER AWARD (13) x4057x3143

T: Leon McDonald & Andrew Gluyas /J: Jason Holder (56.5kg)

Tough honest mare and loves this trip. Three runs back defeated Wangoom winner Outlaw’s Revenge easily. Latest run was 3rd here in the Gr 3 Irwin making ground late. Can place at odds.

13. RUTHLESS DAME (12) 11×320

T: Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace /J: John Allen (55kg)

Is bred to run a trip but has consistently shown she is a dab hand at sprinting. And will test this mob. Never a threat in the Gr 1 1500m Coolmore last start. Better suited here and no surprise to see her salute.

14. I’MLOVIN’YA (4) 61x3380x1

T: Mick Price & Michael Kent / J; Zac Spain (55kg)

Can run and is lightly raced. The reality is she looks safely held but that win when resuming in a Listed race over 1100m last start was pretty sound.
