Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at every runner in Saturday’s  Group 1 $1million Ranvet with horse racing tips for the first four. Read on to see how he maps – he has included the potential for a damp track in his thoughts. Good luck!

1. GOLD TRIP (8) 3x335291x2

T; Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace / J: Mark Zahra (59kg)

Outstanding galloper who will nearly win this. Took out the Gr 1 Melbourne Cup last year easily and has come back in tremendous fashion being narrowly beaten in the 1800m Peter Young Stakes at Gr 2 level. Is fit enough to run a blinder here.

2. MO’UNGA (6) x032852x53

T: Annabel Neasham/ J: Nash Rawiller (59kg)

Looks perfectly placed. Is as tough as old boots and can really scoot home on his day. Is 3rd up here and last start put the writing on the wall when on pace and fighting hard   for 3rd to Anamoe at Gr 1 level in the 1600m Chipping Norton. Has placed last prep at Gr 1 level this trip.

3. DUBAI HONOUR  (2) 24x0x2426x

T: William Haggas / J: Ryan Moore (59kg)

Not started since October but does race at Gr 1 level most starts in Europe and is a travelling companion of Protagonist who won here last week. Is better than him. Is also a stablemate of champion Addaybb. Wouldn’t be in this if not ready to win and must be respected.

4. RAISE YOU (4) 5x81x1215x

T: Joseph O’Brien / J: John Allen (59kg)

This bloke hails from Ireland and has super consistent form – but is weaker grades. That doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t up to this level. Resumes here and once carried 72kg to win a 2400m race at the Curragh! Beaten 10 lengths last start when 5th in the Gr 1 St Leger in Ireland. Respect him.

5. BANKERS CHOICE (7) x770261x63

T: Michael Moroney/ J: Micky Dee (59kg)

Is smart enough to trouble these. Won the Ballarat Cup last campaign and was Gr 2 placed. Since resuming was 3rd in the Gr 2 Blamey last start. However, John Allen always rides him yet has chosen to ride Raise You in this race.

6. EL BODEGON (3) x7233x3x90

T: Chris Waller  / J: Hugh Bowman (58.5kg)

Very smart, slender stayer BUT only if the track is damp. Has won at Gr 1 level in France and has placed in the Gr 1 Cox Plate here while on heavy tracks. If the rain comes, get on. If not, stay away.

7. MONTEFILIA (5) 718x4340x5

T: David Payne /J: Dylan Gibbons (57kg)

Pretty smart mare who has Gr 1 wins under her belt. Ran 4th in the Gr 1 Caulfield Cup last prep and since resuming caught the eye when flying home for 5th to Anamoe in the Gr 1 Chipping Norton. Suited this trip. Is 2nd up. Chance.

8. HINGED (1) x53358x268

T:  Chris Waller  /J: James McDonald (57kg)

Tough mare on quick back up rom 8th in the Gr 1 Coolmore last week. Was last for home and nothing made ground so her run was better than it looked. Is trained here and is a Gr 1 winner. Excels also on a wet track. Place.
