Rosehill R6- $1million Inglis Sires’ Produce (2YO) 1400m
1. CYLINDER (4) 22×112
T; James Cummings / J: James Mcdonald (56.5kg)
Brilliant sprinting juvenile. Narrowly beaten after hitting the lead in the Gr 1 Golden Slipper. Won two runs before easily. Is very fit, is better than these and should be winning.
2. DON CORLEONE (2) 1424
T: Team Snowden / J: Hugh Bowman (56.5kg)
Gr 1 Golden Slipper run when dashing late into 4th spot had back me in the Sires’ written all over it. From this gate in an easier race he should sit about 5th on the fence. If he gets out he can really sprint late.
3. EMPIRE OF JAPAN (11) 1×3645
T: Team Snowden / J: Zac Purton (56.5kg)
Good strong colt who hits the line well. Did that behind Shinzo in the Gr 1 Golden Slipper when grabbing 5th. Is very fit and right in this.
4. VEIGHT (13) 11
T: Team McEvoy / J: Damian Lane (56.5kg)
Is very good. Only raced twice but won them both easily including Victorian version of this race last start. Behind him that day was last Saturday’s very impressive winner Amur. That should tell you how smart he is.
5. MAHARBA (10) 4×12
T: Graeme Begg / J: Michael Dee (56.5kg)
Pretty smart type who will settle just off the pace and will run on. Is 3rd up too which helps. Chased home, beaten 1.6 lengths, Shinzo at level weights last start. Shinzo went on to win the Gr 1 Golden Slipper. Must rate highly.
6. BRAVE MEAD (6) 311
T: Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace/ J: John Allen (56.5kg)
Interesting galloper. Sat back at Pakenham in a maiden and just destroyed them then straight to stakes level and again easy winner when this time leading all the way. Should be just behind the speed and has claims.
7. DISNECK (5) 815×557
T: Bjorn Baker /J: – (56.5kg)
Has talent but led and folded late last week in slightly easier race. Not keen.
8. CAFE MILLENIUM (8) 15
T: John O’Shea /J: Tom Marquand (56.5kg)
On debut his win was more than eye-catching then straight to the silk drawer and was last all the way in field of 5 behind Cylinder. Wasn’t that far away. Trip suits.
9. BASES LOADED (7) 133
T; Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott/ J: Tim Clark (56.5kg)
Is lightly raced but has loads of talent. Won on debut then went to the line with Shinzo when 3rd in the Gr 2 Skyline. Then again not far off Shinzo in the Gr 3 Pago Pago when 3rd. Will be on speed and can battle away.
10. MILITARIZE (1) 130
T: Chris Waller / J: Joao Moreira (56.5kg)
Forget he went around in the Gr 1 Golden Slipper when 13th. Was taken out of play when horse fell in front of him early. Go on solid 3rd to Cylinder ion the Gr 2 Todman.
11. BUTCH CASSIDY (3) 21
T: Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / J: Brett Prebble (56.5kg)
Has ability. After a game stakes placed 2nd at Flemington on debut, went to Mornington for an easy maiden kill and did so impressively. Can place.
12. BOLD AND BRAZEN (12) 07
T: Ian Finn / J: Reece Jones (56.5kg)
Maiden who will be after this race too.
13. PIER PRESSURE (9) 35
T: Kris Lees / J: Dylan Gibbons (56.5kg)
Handy filly but still a maiden. Beaten 1.3 lengths by Bases Loaded when 3rd here then thrashed in fillies race last start. Not keen.
