Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at every runner in Saturday’s $502k Gr 1 The Goodwood with horse racing tips for the first four. Read on to see how he maps his South Aussie classic. Good luck!

1. FRONT PAGE (9) 104x10x882

T; Geoff Duryea/ J: Billy Egan (58.5kg)

Good horse. Is a rising 7 year old but has only had 18 starts and has made the most of them winning $1.4million in prize money. Last start under 61kg he dashed clear and looked the winner until Mnementh who carried 8kg less, grabbed him on the post. Should be in this for a long way.

2. KEMENTARI (7) 03x54737x0

T: James Cummings / J: Jake Toeroek (57kg)

Always must be considered but recent form is only fair. Has won nearly $5million in  prizemoney but last October was the most recent time he’s run well. Ran 3rd, beaten less than 2 lengths by Private Eye in $3m race. Is capable though.

3. SAVATOXL (6) x0289x0x11

T: Will Savage / J; Caitlin Jones (57kg)

Such a surprising horse. Now back with Will Savage having had a few trainers previously and has not been beaten in 2 starts for him this time around, latest 2 weeks back when leading all the way here to beat Larimer Street and General Beau while carrying more weight. Two years ago he won that race also then next start won this race. Keep safe.

4. KALLOS (4) 301279×111

T: James Cummings / J:Ben Melham (57kg)

Steps up in class here but he is a young sprinter on the rise. Has won past three and definitely has a powerful kick. Perfectly drawn so sits about 6th to the bend and will dash at them late. Have in your numbers.

5. CURRAN (8) 043778×517

T: Lyn Tolson & Leonie Proctor / J: Craig Newitt  (57kg)

Has talent and is getting to the line well of late. Shocked with powerful late burst to win $500k Discovery at Bendigo but ws safely held at Mornington in easier race last start. Not keen.

6. FREE OF DEBT (12) 9x109x80x6

T: Chris Bieg / J: Justin Potter (56kg)

Isn’t racing well enough to trouble these.

7. ZAPATEO (17) 16144×0113

T: James Cummings / J: Damien Oliver (55kg)

Top class mare who rattled home when clear and was an unlucky 3rd here in the Gr 1 Sangster this journey. Had won previous two at Group level. Looks well in although where she gets in the run is going to make a difference. Badly drawn.

8. SERADESS (14) 311x70x245

T: Team Kavanagh /J: Todd Pannell (55kg)

Is very fast and will go hard from gate rise. Led and run down late when 5th last start in Gr 1 Sangster. This is a length harder but she will be there for a good while.

9. LOFTY STRIKE (10) 1x347x1228

T:  Julius Sandhu /J: Jamie Mott (54.5kg)

This bloke just looks about the best placed Gr 1 runner I’ve seen. Is better than all these horses and should win.

10. ZOUTORI (2) x0865x05x5

T: Mat Ellerton / J: Craig Williams (54.5kg)

Has talent at this level and goes hard. Is second up here after a good 5th in similar grade. Might surprise a few of these.

11. GENERAL BEAU (11) 3420x49x53

T: Mat Ellerton / J:Lachie Neindorf (54.5kg)

Is super fit and capable. Ran a great 3rd to Savatoxl last start but meets him a little worse at the weights. Rough place show.

12. FRANKIE PINOT (13) 1455x0x522

T: Team McEvoy /J: Madison Lloyd (54.5kg)

Good honest, reliable handicap sprinter. Is always thereabouts but may find a couple too tough late.

13. NOT AN OPTION (1) 784×746153

T: Michael Moroney /J: Pat Moloney (54.5kg)

Is very fit and goes well particularly late in a race. Off this great inside draw he sits about 5th to the bend and with light weight he could sneak a place at big odds..

14. LARIMER STREET (5) 626x311x82

T: David Jolly/ J; Kayla Crowther (54.5kg)

Restricted grade sprinter who is in career best form. Is it up to Gr 1 though? Not sure and the trip against these will test too. But, he ran his heart out when 2nd to Savatoxl last start caring 6.5kg less. This is harder.

15. MNEMENTH (16) 1321x01x71

T: Mitch Beer/ J: Jordan Mallyon (54.5kg)

Is pretty tough and showed heart to run down Front Page in the Wagga Town Plate last start. This is harder and that day he carried 7kg less than the runner up. Today he carries 5.5kg less. May struggle from this gate.

16. ROYAL MERCHANT (15) 1125442321

T: Ciaron Maher & Dave Eustace / J; Micky Dee (52.5kg)

Is going to find it tough finding a spot near the fence from this gate but if he does with this small weight he actually rates well.

17. ANOTHER AWARD (3) 4057×31432

T: Leon McDonald & Andrew Gluyas / J: Jason Holder (52.5kg)

Is weighted to win this. Rattled home and was unlucky when 2nd to Ruthless Dame in the Gr 1 Sangster here last start this trip. And in fast time. Drops 4kg too and the draw is perfect. Respect her a great deal.
