Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews today’s Tamworth and Goulburn meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for 3 races. Good luck, punters!
Track: Heavy 8 at both
With over half the field scratched because of the rain, this race has just 8 runners now. And I like the 3YO filly SOOKIESIE who is trained at this course by Cody Morgan. Those two things right there are enough to fancy her but it was her terrific debut 4th at this level that got me in. Same maiden grade, same trip and here also, she was on speed in 3rd to the bend finishing just 3 lengths behind the winner in 4th spot. Presumably she learns a lot from that and the run tightens her up making her a few lengths fitter. She will step from an inside gate and looks the one to beat for mine.
Tip: SOOKEYSIE
They will race here on a Heavy 10. Not ideal. I always like to be on leaders in races on wet tracks so I’m sticking solid with ROCKIERRO here. This will be his 3rd race start and he was 2nd at Kembla last race. Fitter now and should lead all the way. ADORABLE MISS has talent too. Quinella them.
Tip: ROCKIERRO
A bush Cup race on a wet track. So I looked for and found a speedy bush horse who likes it wet. ECKER ROAD can be hit and miss but he does have the pace to lead these and by this stage of the day, the track will be a mess and horses won’t be finishing off hard. The trip suits him, he is fit enough and at big odds my guess is they just let him bowl along in front unchallenged. He turns for home, finds the fast lane and hangs on.
