Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Canberra meeting, with horse racing tips and analysis for all 3 races. Good luck, punters!

Track Condition: Heavy 9

Rail Position: Out 6m all way

Interesting race. I like MILAMOO. She’s a tough old mare who is in form, and mares in form… She is also a last start winner of a Federal so she drops in class here. Damon Budler who is riding well, takes the mount and he takes 1.5kg off which helps mitigate the rise in weight etc. She is yet to win at this trip but she will be on speed all the way and the very heavy track, which she has no issues with, will help her as the back markers could be floundering with fatigue as they straighten. CLEM FANDANGO for 2nd.

Tip: MILAMOO @ $3.10

I’m looking forward to this race. Because it could, quite literally, be stealing money. HARDNESS, down here from Randwick should lead all the way and win this easily. He has already raced once and put the writing on the wall with a strong effort in a strong maiden that gained 3rd spot. He’s fitter, faster, more in the know of what to do this time and this looks an easier assignment. Perhaps for the Exacta bet LADY ANIMALIA can plough through the mud and slush to grab 2nd.

Tip: HARDNESS @ $2.00

I like the look of the top weight PEYTON PLACE. He will lead which is the best place to be at this stage of the day. Rider Molly Bourke can get him to the fast lane when they swing and I just don’t think there is horse power enough behind him to catch him. Should lead unopposed and that will give him energy and spirit down the running. BANGER for 2nd spot.

Tip: PEYTON PLACE @ $3.40
