Racing expert, RIC CHAPMAN, looks at today’s meetings and singles out his top three racing tips for the Gosford and Taree race meetings. Good luck, punters.
Gosford R4 – Mdn Plate 1600m
This looks like a nice fit for SEGAL. Hughie takes the ride and although drawn the widest he should be able to slot in, probably in 4th, one out and one back. If so he looks the one to hold out. This is his 3rd start this time up so is peaking. Previous two runs have resulted in strong 2nd placings in this grade. SINDAGAR seems to have talent too and poses a threat, but really, if Segal gets a cushy or even a decent run, he looks the strongest. There is stable confidence around for him also. Will be a good quinella wager.

Gosford R5 – Mdn Plate 1200m
Not much separates the top few chances here on ability. There has been an abundance of money this far come in for the filly BEEP TEST here despite her losing rather meekly last start. This is easier in her defence. But it is also easier for HOW DO YOU SLEEP. He likes to find his feet early so may be giving a few of these a start. But the pace will be on as a couple really fire up and the two trials this bloke has run this prep have been very impressive. Looks a nice each way bet. That’s my quinella bet also.

Taree R8 – Livermore Cup 1400m
Lots of different form lines here. Money for the unlucky CHASING COMETS who just failed to grab rival again here INVIVTUS FELIX last start in an easier race but does drop 4.5kg. I like PRIMA STELLA though. the old boy is in career best form racing his way through these country cups. He absolutely flying and I see him slotting in about 6th to the bend and his recent form and residual fitness can bring him home on a winning wave of acceleration.
