Form analyst, RIC CHAPMAN, previews Wednesday’s meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for the five best bets of the day. Good luck, punters!
Warrnambool R3- Mdn Plate (4YO+) 1400m
Lindsey Smith trains LIKELY SUSPECT who resumes from a spell here. Jump outs good, well in at the set weights after debut 6th this grade and looks to have improved. Betting suggests so.
Tip: LIKELY SUSPECT
Warrnambool R4 – Mdn Plate (3YO+) 1700m
A really weak maiden at Warrnambool, but remember, the colour of money is the same if it’s from a Gr 1 or a maiden. And I liked the fact that ZIPPITY ZOUSTAR found much improvement last start when ridden in front. He had previously been allowed to drop out and only ever plugged home but he was ridden aggressively last start this grade, leading from the gun, and was 2nd. Fitter now.
Tip: ZIPPITY ZOUSTAR
Doomben R6 – BM75 (3YO+) 1050m
At his last two runs before a spell JETSKI raced like he wanted a rest and on those runs you couldn’t have him here first-up. But, when he was peaking during that prep he won at BM 70 level well and I simply have a gut feeling he might bob up here while fresh. To back that up, he has run well in the past when resuming. FREDERICK THE DANE also resumes and has drawn well.
Tip: JETSKI
Canterbury R7 – BM64 Hcp 1250m
This looks a nice race for POWERFUL PEG. Trained by Kris Lees, she looks beautifully placed here 4th up especially as she has in form rider Dylan Gibbons steering. He takes off 2kg as well. Should get the gun run here just off the speed too. NEVER FAILS for 2nd money.
Tip: POWERFUL PEG
Doomben R7 – Cl 2 (3YO +) Hcp 1350m
Interesting race. HEAD LEGISLATOR is 2nd up here and down in grade. That always suggests a forward showing especially after first up 7th was a pretty handy run. But what I like is the fact two preps ago he was very promising. May be back to that form. If so wins handsomely.
