Form analyst, SCOTT MCDONELL, previews Saturday’s meetings, with horse racing tips and analysis for the five best bets of the weekend. Good luck, punters!

ROCH LEGACY looks the one to toss in this staying contest. Ran a close 4th last time out in a similar type of race against Coolth who has taken all before him during his summer vacation in Perth.
Previously had run within 2 lengths of Queen Alina and Mystery Island, both of whom were considered major players in early Perth Cup markets. Currently sitting at a nice each way quote and cannot see this boy missing a cheque.

Tip: ROCH LEGACY

This really does seem to be THE VELVET QUEEN’S race to lose. Comes into this race with only 54kgs, drawn perfectly in barrier 2 to get every possible chance on the rail and only needs to find an opening in the run home to be getting the cash.
Undefeated track and distance and she looks like the best bet of the day.

Tip: THE VELVET QUEEN

Going for a bit of value here in SNIPPY FOX. Would appreciate a wet track and at this stage the track looks to be on the soft side, so we’ll throw a few dollars on this bonny mare and see if she can get the job done. Couldn’t get into the race first up and then was just behind the prepost favorite last time out.
Does appear to be a significant price difference and I’ll be playing the roughie of the two.

Tip: SNIPPY FOX

AYAHUASCA was quite disappointing 3 weeks ago when she was a short priced favorite but I’m prepared to give this mare another chance. She was dominant in her win previously and Kah reported last start that she felt that Ayahuasca didn’t appreciate  racing inside other horses.
From the outside draw that is a plus, so let’s butter up again at juicy odds this time around.

Tip: AYAHUASCA

We went for THE NEPHEW two runs back and had no luck at all in the run and was close up again last time out against the promising Riverplate at Sandown two weeks back. Looks to be plenty of speed here and that should suit this boy perfectly.
Now well into his campaign, this race should be for his taking and watch for him to be running over them from the corner.

Tip: THE NEPHEW
