Preview – Gr 1 Toorak Handicap

Top class miler, third up here and is set to run an almighty race. Resumed with a great 2nd in similar grade then got a bit lost but still worked home well when 8th in the Gr 1 Epsom this trip not beaten far. Suited here and is fitter.

Not just the best horse in this race but may actually be the best horse in the land. Should win.

Is racing in super form. Is 3rd up here and his last start gutsy win against a similar field was top notch. Goes very well this journey and races with genuine honesty every run. draw is awkward but probably sits midfield and charges late.

After a good close up 4th to pinstriped in the Gr 2 Feehan this trip, went to Sydney and was wide for a good while when 10th to Redeiner in the Gr 1 Epsom. This is slightly easier and can run a place.

Fascinating Brisbane galloper. Just keeps winning irrespective of grade. Last start won the Gr 3 Sandown Stakes over 1500m and last prep was a stakes winner in Qld this trip. Has won 9 of his 11 starts and so is very honest. Horror draw though.

Flashed home to just miss beaten a nose by Pinstriped in the Gr 2 Feehan this trip but was thrashed in Alligator Blood’s gr 1 Underwood last start. Is generally a good miler. If he brings that form he will settle midfield and come home hard.

Always goes around in these races and tends to always finish around 6th or so. Will again.

Smart galloper who is working towards a win. Is 3rd up here and loves this trip. Looked good on speed when in fast time beaten a head with 58kg here in the Testa Rossa over 1400m by Buffalo River. Drops 5kg and may be a knock out hope.

Beaten 3 lengths by Amelia’s Jewel when resuming over 1400m, then last start led and was beaten just shy of a length in record run mile at the Valley. Is fast, is now very fit and meets the champ 4kg better here. Huge threat.

Form ws horrible until they rode him from the front in the easier Balaklava Cup this trip last start and he won under 60kg in fast time. A few go hard in this and he may well struggle if he can’t find the lead.

Tough horse who tends to race very well at this track. Made ground late to claim Corner pocket and just miss getting Buffalo River in the 1400m Tresta Rossa last start. They ran fast time that day. Drops 6kg and that is significant.

Not drawn well and as she likes to be just off the pace that may be a worry as she could get caught deep. Saying that, if she finds cover she will make a race of this. Drops 5.5kg on great 4th to Amelia’s Jewel over 1400m last start coming hard late. Meets that mare 4kg better and is fitter.

Another one with talent who likes to lead. Led and just grabbed by the smart Antino 1500m Gr 3 last start and meets him the same here. Has been known to sit off the speed which he can do here off this great draw. Place show.

Great run when resuming when flashing home into 5th behind the star Mr Brightside at WFA but when odds on fav last start plodded home into 6th behind Buffalo River in an easier race. Drops 5kg here and that may have been 2nd up syndrome effort.

European galloper who in 3 starts in Australia has run 2 placings but in weaker grade. This should test.

Is 3rd up and there was merit in his 4th last start. This is much hard but has no weight and might be thereabouts
