- Caulfield - RACE 7
- (1600M)
- November 18, 2023
1. Kimochi (4)

Beautiful filly who deserves some good luck finally. Has raced 8 times and has won just one low key race but has been Gr 1 placed and can run time. Is actually, on times run thus far, much better than all her rivals in this. Last start, certainty beaten when 3rd in good time to Roll On High in 1400 Desirable. Was 4-wide all the way. Should get a dream run this time and looks the winner for mine.

2. Coeur Volante (5)

Valuable filly with 2 stakes wins at her past 2 starts to support her value. Never raced this trip but knows where the post is and hits the line hard. Was dominant in beating Vivy Air and Zourion over 1400m last start. Looks toughest beat here from this nice gate too.

Proven Winner
3. Skybird (2)

Took imposing record to 3 from 3 when she rattled home from the tail of the field to narrowly claim the 1600m Gr 2 Classic at The Valley. Better suited to this track and is clearly capable of matching motors with the best of them. Drawn to get a great run on the fence in about 7th to the bend. Just needs to get out and get a run.

Proven Winner
4. Arctic Glamour (7)

Sydney filly with talent. After brilliantly winning the 1400m Listed Reginald Allen at Randwick in fast time she appeared to struggle late over this trip when a fading 6th in Gr 2. This is easier but that last 100m is a slight worry. Has great talent though.

5. Carina Queen (8)

Extra smart filly who must be considered. Only raced 4 times but is already a stakes winner and last start this trip came home very hard late when beaten less than a length in the Gr 2 Classic at The Valley. Yet to race here but has talent and should settle midfield with cover. Big show.

6. Joliestar (1)

Is smart and a big show here. Drew so badly last start in the Desirable over 1400m, that she had to go back and was 12th for home. And wide, but came home very hard late to grab 2nd behind the smart Roll On High. Everything says this trip will suit even more.

7. Zourion (11)

Looks hard to beat. Gets back and runs home hard. Won a Gr 2 this age in NZ then in 2 starts in Australia has steadily improved, last start for instance was a good 3rd in the Gr 2 Tranquil Star over 1400m when making ground late. Has claims.

8. Vivy Air (13)

Poor draw is a worry but she likely drops out early to mitigate that. Stormed home to win a BM 64 64 by a nostril then at big odds last start in Gr 2, came from 12th on bend for impressive 2nd to Coeur Volante in 1400m Tranquil Star. This trip looks to suit her style.

Good on Soft
9. Apache Song (9)

Form has fallen away since easy Moe maiden win. And this looks too hard also.

10. Enna's Dream (6)

Form is consistent and she has ability. Steps up a bit in class here following recent Bm 64 win at Sandown and last start narrow 2nd in slow time same track. Could sneak a place at big odds.

11. Ersa (12)

Seems to be getting better with racing. Won maiden at Ballarat rather easily this trip in slow time, but was stepped up to stakes level last start and ran a courageous 4th to Kaizad in the Carbine Club this trip at Gr 3 level. That was leader biased race and she was 4th for home. Can show up.

12. Vibrant Sun (10)

Might be very smart. Made ground and looked handy when 2nd in 1400m Pakenham maiden, then stepped up to 1715m in Geelong maiden last start and just destroyed the field winning by 8! This is many lengths harder but she deserves a shot at this level following that run last start. Have in your numbers.

13. Quickster (3)

Maiden galloper with finishing talent. Has only raced twice and both times she showed talent getting off pace then running on, latest when 4th beaten 3 lengths in the Gr 2 over a mile at The Valley behind Skybird. This may still test but will be running on.
