Preview – Gr 1 Caulfield Guineas

Superstar colt who just finds ways to win. Loves this trip. Brilliantly won a Gr 1 last srart when 2nd up and is much fitter now. Looks the winner at level weights.

Gr 1 winner as a juvenile but not finishing as hard as a 3YO. Well beaten 3rd in Gr 3 over 1200m behind Veight then not even placed in Guineas Prelude behind Steparty. On his day he is good but not sure this is his day.

This bloke is the dark horse. is 3rd up so is ready to pounce and is already a Gr 1 winner over a mile. Last start was beaten less than 2 lengths by Militarize and just didn’t seem to have the sprint late but ground home. Fitter now. Respect.

Fascinating colt. Is unbeaten in 5 starts latest in good time winning, albeit narrowly, the 1400m Prelude to this. Can lead or sit right back it doesn’t seem to bother him. Might be rather special.

Very classy. Won first up over 1200m in Gr 3 McNeil comfortably beating Legacies and Little Brose home then really didn’t fire up late at all when nearly 3 lengths behind Steparty last start in Prelude. May have been 2nd up syndrome because he is better than that.

This is the type of colt you want your money on. Is always in the fight and tries his heart out. Won his past 2 including the tough Gr 2 Stutt Stakes this trip last start when on pace all the way. Big show but bad draw.

Tough fellow who is super fit. Made a good late charge when beaten a long neck in the 1400m Prelude behind Steparty. Has to be considered.

Looks one of the main chances. Chased home Steparty over 1200m then last start in the 1400m Prelude was just behind speed all the way when a close up 3rd to same horse. Bred to get the trip.

Was unbeaten in 2 easy races before lining up in the Gr 3 Prelude last start and flashed home from a mile back to be beaten a nose. Gave the impression this trip would suit. Big show.

Nice type who is getting better with racing. Won Sale man in slow time then up to midweek grade and finished hard to win over 1420m. This is harder still but is improving.

This all might be a little too soon for him but he does have a ton of ability. Won mdn easily at Bendigo then straight to a mile and close up 2nd to Griff in the Gr 2 Stutt Stakes. Will be fitter for this but will have to go a long way back early from this gate.

Sydney horse who probably leads these but will find it hard staying in front when they turn for home.

Still a maiden after 5 starts, last start best effort when led and 4th to Griff in Stutt. Not keen.

Handy maiden galloper from 3 starts but has placed in all 3. This is way too hard though.

Has ability but at this level he will struggle.
