Gr 2- The Shorts

Top class sprinter who looks thrown in here. Blew all day in the betting when resuming last start, came down the worst part of the track yet finished just 2 lengths behind I Am Me and Bella Nipotina in the Gr 3 Concorde. Is better suited this trip. He’s also won 3 races at this track, been placed in The Everest here and is potent 2nd up. Huge threat.

Is one of those horses who has all the talent in the world but doesn’t always show it. Resumed last start and was beaten 4 lengths by I Am Me in the Concorde. Was running on and the extra 100m will help here. Place.

Super consistent mare who won the Gr 1 Stradbroke over 1400m at her latest run. carried no weight that day and ran very fast time to beat Bella Nipotina. This may be a tad too quick for her but she will be dashing home late. Trialled well.

Grwos a leg when its wet but no rain in the forecast. Has only ever won one race while on a good track so that’s a concern. Resumes here after a good Brisbane winter campaign. Likes this track as he was once trained here and can sneak a place.

Won the Gr 3 Star Kingdom back in March over 1200m like he was a superstar in the making yet in 3 races since he’s barely beaten a runner home. Last start was 10th of 12 behind I Am Me over 1000m. This trip suits more but still not keen.

Outstanding mare who resumed from a spell and looked a million dollars holding off her stablemate Bella Nipotina in the Concorde. Has placed at Gr 1 level up to 1400m so the extra trip here presents as no problem. Loves this track too having won 3 of 4 starts and is very strong 2nd up. Big, big danger.

Brilliant filly. Won the Gr 1 Golden Slipper and has placed twice at Gr 1 level in 2 starts since including a game 3rd in the Moir stakes at Moonee Valley. Back on her home track here over a trip where she is undefeated. Not suited well at the weights but is all heart.

Very fast and goes well fresh. Is resuming here but this is a very strong field so may struggle late.

Has raced 12 times in easier races at this track and has won just the one race. This is very hard and last start was well beaten when 7th of 12 to I Am me. To be fair, wasn’t all that far away.

Rising in grade a bit here but is extremely consistent and loves this journey. Chased home the brilliant Joliestar last start when 2nd in the Gr 3 Show County. Can run fast time. Is third up here. From this gate should find a nice spot in about 4th to the bend and can sneak a place at good odds.

Interesting to see if he can lead these. He generally leads his races but hasn’t been in a field this strong before. Shocked at $61 when he led and ran a game 3rd to I Am Me on a leader-biased track last start. This is harder but he is honest.

On the quick back-up after running home hard and splitting the class mares Sunshine In Paris and Joliestar in the 1200m Sheraco at Gr 2 last Saturday. Is 3rd up now and if she repeats that run she is in the mix here.
