1. Ceolwulf (2)
Tends to need three runs before he reaches his top. This is his pet trip and he’s won multiple Gr 1 races here at this distance but is only 2nd up in this. Was doing best work late when resuming and well beaten 6th to Autumn Glow in the Gr 2 Apollo Stakes in fast time over 1400m. Can run into a place.

Track Talent
2. Sir Delius (6)
This is a really good horse who has won at G1 level, has an imposing first-up record, is trained here and looks ready to really test this superstar mare. Two trials with Craig Williams flying specifically up for the trials have been handy. Watch market because he is a talent.

Proven Winner
3. Lindermann (8)
Didn’t feel at home when resuming last start and well, beaten 3rd to Autumn Glow in the Gr 2 Apollo in fast time over 1400m. Much, much better suited to this trip and is potent when 2nd up. If he leads on his own he will take catching.

Ready to Fire
4. Wootton Verni (7)
Has ability but it won’t show up in this strong field. Not keen.

5. Soul Of Spain (5)
Handicapper with a lot of staying ability. Can he produce it here at WFA? Probably not, however, he likes it wet, has won over a mile and is good 2nd up. Jumped out and settled last when resuming when well beaten 9th to Autumn Glow in the Gr 2 Apollo in fast time over 1400m. Should be a little more competitive here.

6. Valiant King (9)
Terrific stayer resuming here. May appreciate the damp track but will be last at some stage. Can run on but place at very best this field.

7. Trinity College (4)
Interesting galloper. Has not raced in Australia yet but his 2 trials were very impressive, latest when 4th to Linebacker going to the line well held together. Is a Gr 3 winner and Gr 1 place getter in France and that’s always good form for this type of race. Can race on pace. Watch the market closely.

8. Autumn Glow (3)
Superstar. Can we call her a champion yet? Maybe after this win. Has raced 9 times for 9 wins. Has won at Gr 1 level, easily, and last start when resuming in the 1400m Apollo at WFA at Gr 2 level, she toyed with her rivals, some of whom are here again. Looks bullet-proof. Has won this track and trip too, and unbeaten in 3 runs on soft ground.

9. Aeliana (1)
Bonafide star herself, but in recent starts has been runner-up to Via Sistina, Mr Brightside and last start when resuming to Autumn Glow. Was making ground on her late. Is a Gr 1 winner, is unbeaten on soft ground and loves this track. Looks the quinella play.
