Gr 1 Verry Elleegant Stakes Preview

Outstanding galloper, a multiple Gr 1 winner and ran a cracking race first up when close-up and running on 4th to Fangirl in Gr 1. Better suited this journey, is fitter now and will be charging home. Did win 2nd up last prep.

French import now with Ciaron Maher. Not raced in Australia yet but was 3rd in a recent trial behind Pericles. Will know he’s been in a race against these but may pay to follow down the track.

Vastly improved galloper who, even saying that, will find these a bit tough. Did thrash the subsequent Melb Cup winner in a Gr 2 before spell over 2200m. Resumes here and this should test.

Will probably be up on speed and make a bit of a race of it. Did that when resuming in shorter Gr 1 won by Fangirl. Better suited here and is fitter. Place show.

Resumed in the Gr 1 Apollo last start over 1400m and went straight to the front. Was still there with 75m to go and wound up 2nd to Fangirl. Similar field and conditions here and is fitter. Should run boldly again.

Gr 1 Metrop winner, then placed in Gr 1 Caulfield Cup before a game 8th in Melbourne Cup. This is far too short though first-up.

Goes really well on wet tracks. Found a super-fast surface when resuming and a handy 6th to Fangirl in the Gr 1 over 1400m. Likes this trip better.

Champion mare who will just about win this. Blocked for clear passage when 3rd to Fangirl last start when resuming. Fitter now. Looks the winner.

Got to the outside when they turned for home and had a clear run home as opposed to Via Sistina who was held up. Did what she had to do and won the Gr 1 Apollo in fast time. was 2nd in this race last year. Fitter now and runs brilliantly at this trip.
