Gr 1 – Turnbull Stakes

Should be super fit now and is expected to run boldly. Just behind placegetters at two starts this campaign in this grade. On his day he is quite brilliant, and no surprise to see the best of him show up here.

Getting ready for the Cups. Not suited to WFA but is tough and probably races on pace. Rough place chance, and if he does place have a few quid on early Cup markets.

Is the boom horse and justifiably so. Should be at peak here. Only unplaced run in his career was when 8th in one of the world’s hardest races the Gr 1 Prix de l’arc de Triomph. Since coming to Australia has raced 3 times for 2 stakes win and a 2nd when resuming. Up in class here but is so tough and determined he must be a threat.

Is the champion and loves this journey. Gr 1 Cox Plate winner aiming to go back to back. Didn’t look great when ridden way too conservatively in race won by Mr Bightside last start over a mile at this level. More pace on here and is fitter. Looms large.

North American Gr 1 winner who has raced her way into form over recent weeks. Loves this trip and no surprise to see her race boldly. Stablemate to Via Sistina.

Is the dark horse here. Handicap form is outstanding and is the current Gr 1 Caulfield Cup fav. Racing top line company at WFA is a major step up but he is showing acceleration at the end of his recent races that suggests he might measure up. Flemington will suit.

Is the heir apparent to Via Sistina’s crown as Australia’s best racehorse. Is 3rd up and this looks absolutely ideal. Ready to userp the queen. Big, big threat.

Always a tough competitor but this is silk drawer stuff and may find it hard over the last 100m.

Heading towards the Gr 1 Melb Cup. Not here.

Should put some pace into this contest. Is pretty tough and very, very honest. Fit horse with a lot of desire. Place show.

WFA doesn’t suit him. Headed towards the cups and was not overly far away (5 lengths) behind Sir Delius in Gr 1 last start. Not keen.

Looks like he can stay all day so if he runs on hard into the top 5, get on early for the Gr 1 Melb Cup. Is 3rd up here and may find these a tad tough but is high class when right.

Not racing with a great deal of zeal because she is being prepped for the Cups. So as the trips increase, she will perform better. Is 3rd up here and does like this track. Can place at huge odds.

Gr 1 placed last prep and this will be 3rd start this time up. Well beaten and a little disappointing last start when 8th to Half Yours beaten 7 lengths – BUT – meets him 6.5kg better. And is fitter.
