Superstar resuming here up against a champion. What a clash. Is a threat in any race he runs in and goes brilliantly while fresh. Drawn to secure the run of the race and will be in this finish. Did win this race last year in the mud.

Comes into this very well. In very fast run gr 2 Challenge over 1000m when resuming he sat up on the outside of the speed and was only a length away at the end. Is fitter now but more significantly, he grows a leg when it is wet. And, it will be wet. rates highly as a result.

Not racing like he was last campaign, but to be fair, he is up to the top level now. And in this he has a few things in his favour – he’s very fit and likes it wet. I think if they use him up and he leads he may improve a great deal. Place.

Should and needs to improve on poor last start outing when 13th in the Gr 1 Galaxy behind stablemate Zapateo. Got back to near last on a day when nothing ran on. Is 3rd up now and previous run was an excellent 3rd to Passive Aggressive in the Gr 2 Challenge finishing hard late. Likes it wet and that should help a lot here.

I was on him big time last start in the Gr 1 Galaxy and he got behind runners and just didn’t run on. At his best he’s a player but doesn’t look to have come up this campaign. Does handle the wet well however.

Who is this bloke who has burst onto the scene? Well, he ran fast time in a BM 78 under 60kg at Flemington in January then last start at $71 he charged at the champ Imperatriz in the Gr 1 William Reid to just fail finishing a great 2nd. Not raced in the wet and not raced at randwick so I’m tipping WFA at Gr 1 level here may test him.

Champion sprinter and can perform in all conditions – from fast to heavy. Has won this way of going and has placed at this track. After a stunning and courageous 2nd to Cylinder in the Gr 1 Newmarked she finished too hard to narrowly win the Gr 1 William Reid from Johnny Rocker. Drawn to get a dream run and looks the one they all have to beat again.

Is outstanding on her day and is a Gr 1 winner with many Gr 1 placings. But Imperatriz is her bogey horse. At her last 4 starts she has raced against Imperatriz and finished behind in all 4 runs. Does like it wet however, has won at this track and is always a good choice in your numbers.

Terrific mare who is 3rd up following two outstanding Gr 1 placings, firstly behind Imperatriz in the Lightning over 1000m then last start behind Lady Laguna in the Canterbury Stakes over 1300n. Has twice won this track and the trip suits at this stage. Will get back and as she doesn’t mind it wet, will run on.

Here’s the dark horse of the field. Is ultra-consistent, can run at this level and last start when resuming in the unsuitable 1100m Gr 1 Galaxy she was on the fence and stayed there which was the slowest part of the track yet finished hard to fail by a nose. Has no heavy form but has won on a soft track and is very, very good this trip. Looks a major player in this.

Smart mare. Resumed from spell and was there at the clocktower to win the gr 1 Newmarket but just couldn’t get past Imperatriz then Cylinder came late. is 2nd up here and meets the champion mare 3kg worse off for losing to her last start. Saying that, she has won here, has an imposing 2nd-up record and won on a heavy track. looks to be in this.

On the quick back-up after a really gutsy impressive effort when wide all the way in weaker Gr 3 Birthday card this trip last week. Has Gr 1 form and does boast tremendous wet weather track form. This is harder though.

Restricted class mare with talent but not enough of it to win this.
