1. Overpass (2)
Brilliantly fast and can run sensational time at this venue. Loves it fresh where he has an imposing record and resumes here. Won 2 out of 2 barrier trials recently. Must be strongly fancied as he will lead these a merry dance.

2. Jimmysstar (9)
Top class Victorian sprinter already a Gr 1 winner. Stormed home to claim the 1100m Oakleigh Plate when resuming then almost as impressive when flashing from last when 2nd in the Gr 1 William Reid. This straight will suit his style of racing and is a dab hand on a damp track too. Big show.

Interesting to look through his form. Three preps ago, he won first up, then was beaten, then won 3rd up. Last prep he was beaten a nose when resuming, then failed badly before winning stakes race this trip in very fast time. This prep, won Gr 2 in fast time when resuming, was woeful last start and is 3rd up here. May pay to have in your numbers.

4. Headwall (7)
Is rapidly becoming the find of the summer. After a terrific Gr 3 win at kembla, was spelled then returned in the Gr 1 Oakleigh plate where he placed 4th and should have won. Proved next start in the Gr 1 Newmarket that he belongs when flashing home in super fast time for 2nd to Joliestar. Meets her 6kg worse off here which is a concern but does run home hard.

5. Briasa (3)
Immensely talented and lightly raced but I’m not convinced he’s a WFA horse just yet. Was enormously impressive with 54.5kg when flying home from 13th at the bend for 4th to the unbeaten superstar Private Harry, beaten nearly 2 lengths. Will get back and should run on hard.

6. Sunshine In Paris (11)
Such a tough ask from this bad gate. Will have to slot in at or near the rear. Is capable of extremely fast late sectionals and does absolutely love this journey. Very consistent and sure to be rattling home.

7. Joliestar (4)
Silenced her critics with a dominant display in winning the Gr 1 time-honoured Newmarket down the straight six last start. Off that run and at the weights she should win this so must be strongly fancied. Topped up by nice easy trial last week.

8. Magic Time (1)
Looks very hard to beat here. Loves this track and loves this trip even more. Scored a game win in the Gr 2 Expressway here over 1200m coming home the last 600m in exceptional time, then should have won the Gr 1 Canterbury Stks last start when 3rd to Royal Patronage over 1300m. Blocked for a run at the 250m mark. Since won a trial beating Joliestar and Switzerland and has the ace draw. Big, big show.

9. I Am Me (6)
At her best she is a place show but not sure she is racing at her best this prep. Not keen.

Is so honest and so versatile she must rate a big show. Gets back and runs on as she did when resuming over 1000m. Much better suited this journey. Is always a threat.

11. Switzerland (5)
Super colt on his day. Won the Gr 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes over 1200m in very fast time last November. But, two starts this time up haven’t been great, when 4th in the Gr 1 Lightning then, a well beaten 6th in the Gr 1 Canterbury Stakes over 1300m. Recent 3rd in trial behind the mares Magic Time and Joliestar. Is capable but has he come up this prep?

12. Traffic Warden (12)
What’s he going to do? Is capable of finishing over the top of these and winning. Is 2nd up and he has proven to be deadly 2nd up. Finished well without threatening when 5th in the Gr 1 Lightning over 1000m and is much more at home this journey. Watch market moves.
