- Eagle Farm - Race 8
- (1400m)
- June 29, 2024
1. Bella Nipotina (17)
She is the biggest trier in the race, has the best record, is the best horse by a country mile but has one of the worst barriers. Still, she looks a fair bit better than all of these and should win.

2. Semana (6)
Drew badly and was rearward all the way in the gr 1 Stradbroke won by Stefi Magnetica. is much, much better than that and did win 2nd up last campaign. Can place.

Good on Soft
3. Roots (8)
Goes very well fresh and hasn’t raced for over 2 months. Has trialled. Runs home hard when mind is on the job. Is a bit in and out but if she puts best foot forward she can run into a place.

Good on Soft
4. Opal Ridge (5)
Top class on her day but has always promised to be a Gr 1 horse and tends to fall a little short when push comes to shove. Is 3rd up here. Did brilliantly win against own sex when resuming and worked home pretty well when beaten 5 lengths in Moreton Cup last start. Can place.

5. Comrade Rosa (19)
Smart mare who loves this track having won 4 times here. Has had 3 good runs since resuming and all have been solid hitting the line well. Will have to go back from this gate but I suspect she is ready to rattle home.

6. Bubble Rock (15)
Top flight mare from America. Has won at Gr 2 level over there and is very consistent. Has won at stakes level up to 1700m. On Aussie debut ran a terrific race up on speed when 3rd to Chinny Boom over 1200m here. Draw is a worry but I suspect she goes hard early to find a spot. Interesting runner.

7. Vienna Princess (1)
Good mare on her day and is 2nd up here after a good run into 8th spot but beaten only 4 lengths behind C’est Magique here. Loves this trip and does run on. Place.

8. C'Est Magique (9)
In tremendous form and showed that last start with a dominant on speed display to comfortably win the Gr 2 dane Ripper which is a great lead-up race for this. This is a little harder but a mare in winning form…

9. Lekvarte (7)
Was in sparkling, Group-winning, career best form before she went for a let-up and last start when resuming was last all the way in the Gr 2 Moreton behind Vilana. Is capable of being in this finish but last start was pretty ordinary.

10. Ausbred Flirt (12)
Solid mare who was the only one to burst from the chasing pack to make any indent on the flying C’est Magique last start. Ran 2nd. This is harder but she’s back in form and should be running on.

11. More Secrets (11)
Good mare who won a trial nicely last week but has consistently failed at this level and probably struggles again.
-
Good on Soft
12. Zoe's Promise (13)
Probably charges out of the gates here hard looking for the lead. If she finds it she can control the tempo here and is pretty tough to get past over this trip. Will be huge odds but is worth a place ticket.

13. Coco Jamboo (3)
Looks to be the dark horse and I suggest you have her in your numbers. Gets back and can run home extremely hard. Is 3rd up here so should be super fit now. Did make impressive ground from the back when 5th to C’est Magique here last week in the Gr 2. Meets her 1.5kg better and is fitter now. Big danger.

Ready to Fire
14. Coeur Volante (16)
Horrible draw here. Is lightly raced and has a lot of talent but needs luck in the run. Didn’t get a lot of it last start when making ground late and 6th to C’est Magique here last start. Place.

15. Roll On High (4)
two starts back roared home to beat subsequent gr 1 Stradbroke winner Stefi Magnetica here over 1400m in the Gr 3 Fred Best. Didn’t fire a shot in the Stradbroke last start and was beaten 6 lengths by Bella Nipotina in that race. Meets her 4.5kg worse here for that defeat.

16. Abounding (18)
Good, consistent mare who did run a super fast 1400m back in January. This is a different kettle of fish as she has drawn poorly and it is hard to see her getting in anywhere during the run. Needs a good run to be in this finish. Solid 3rd to C’est Magique here 2 weeks ago in the Dane Ripper. Has claims if she gets a good run in the race.

17. Miss Joelene (10)
Wouldn’t this be a training performance if she won? Wow, was 3rd last start in the Gr 1 Qld Oaks over 2200m. Is very talented and did run a fast 1300m back in April under 60kg. Might just storm over the top of these late.

has talent and can run on but is pretty inconsistent.

19. Willinga Beast (14)
In and out type who put best foot forward last start when on speed and stakes winner here over Pereille in good time over 1200m. This is much harder and may not get a run.
