Gr 1 Surround Stakes Preview

Doing everything to suggest she is the next bonafide superstar of our sport. Sat behind Lady Of Camelot until well into the straight when resuming last start. Hit the accelerator when she wanted too, and raced away. Should do the same this trip.

Proven star. Is a Gr 1 winner and ran a terrific race when 2nd last start in very fast time in the Gr 2 Light Finger over 1200m. But, was handled by Lady Shenandoah. Hard to see her turning the tables but will battle away for 2nd.

Blew in the market quite a bit and ran accordingly when resuming last start in the 1200m Light Finger finishing 9th. Is fitter now and on her day has a powerhouse finishing burst. Expect a better run.

Kiwi filly resuming here and on debut in Australia. Has been Gr 1 placed in NZ though and that speaks volume for her talent. Has had 2 Sydney trials. Watch betting.

Very smart and strong filly. Runner up in the Gr 1 VRC Oaks over 2500m last prep. This may prove a tad short but will be running on late. Is trained here.

Is very talented and will run a big race. Only time she raced this trip, was last prep and she won a stakes race in Melbourne. Last start on speed and ran a game 3rd to Lady Shenandoah and Lady Of Camelot in very fast time. Fit and ready to fire here.

Is pretty talented and is looking at a good prep here. Sat back and ran on when resuming last start in fast run Gr 2 behind Lady Shenandoah. Finished 4th. Is a stakes winner and is suited this trip. Place.

Good filly who appreciated the drop in class when resuming and finished hard to win in good time here. Back up in class but fitter now and should run on hard. Is trained here.

Runs like this trip may suit in so much as she gets back and charges late. Won from 14th at the 300m a stakes race at Flemington when last in work. Was doing best work late when resuming and 6th to Lady Shenandoah late start. Is a stablemate of hers but doesn’t look good enough to beat her here.

Solid filly who is a stakes winner from last prep but has never raced at this trip. Was well beaten 8th in the Gr 2 Light Finger last start.

Smart filly and yet another stablemate of the fav here.  Was resuming last start when a handy 7th to her in the Gr 2 Light Finger over 1200m. Better suited here and could sneak a place.

Went to the fron t early and kept fighting hard when 2nd at stakes level in Melbourne this trip last start. Hard to line up form but is fit and tough. Place show.

A quality filly who has twice been stakes placed. Resumes here but has had 2 trials. Can run home hard late and is trained here. Place.

Consistent, in form filly who has won past 2 starts but in weaker grade. This is harder but you can’t knock winning form and did win midweek grade this trip last start. Sure to be handy for a while.

Poor draw here but has a touch of real class about her. ll good runs to date have been in much weaker grade but she can accelerate and that’s a great weapon to have.
