- RANDWICK - RACE 9
- (1600M)
- April 13, 2024
1. Atishu (2)
was scratched from the Gr 1 Queen Elizabeth to have a dig at this and looks very well placed. has no issue with the sting out of the ground and is in career-best form. Gets back and runs on very hard as she did last start when a slashing 3rd in the Gr 1 Australian Cup behind the superstars Cascadian and Pride Of Jenni. Her last 600m was the fastest and she had won at Gr 2 level over a mile at the start prior. Looks very hard to beat in this.

Ready to Fire
2. Zougotcha (1)
Keeps drawing these incredibly good gates and well, keeps sitting just behind the pace and keeps winning. Was simply too good in the Gr 1 Coolmore over 1500m which is a handicap. Back to set weights here and is even fitter. Loves it wet and has won 3 times at this track. Huge chance.

Good on Soft
3. Campionessa (13)
Top class Kiwi mare who has won at Gr 1 level. Came to Australia in Feb and immediately made an impression by winning the Gr 2 Peter Young at Caulfield beating two Melbourne Cup winners. Last start hit the line well when 3rd in the Gr 2 Sunline over this trip at The Valley. Much better placed on a big track like this and is certain to be running on.

4. Ruthless Dame (16)
Top class Gr 1 winning mare who is very close to a win. Carried 58kg when a strong 3rd last start to Olentia in the Gr 2 Emancipation. Carried 3kg more than the winner and just faded late. The trip here is her biggest worry although the Waller mares are hard to beat too. Is fitter now and may surprise.

5. Semana (4)
Quality mare who is in career-best form. Trip is the biggest hurdle. Won the Gold Coast 1400m worth $1million easily in fast time, then won the Gr 3 Triscay beating Olentia and carrying 3.5kg more than her. last start finished hard out wide to just miss in the Gr 1 Coolmore behind Zougotcha. Did carry 2.5kg less than her that day and now they are level weights. Place show.

6. Olentia (10)
ran good time and looked awesome winning the Gr 2 Emancipation last start at Roehill from Arctic Glamour and Ruthless dame. That was 3rd run this time up and is super fit now. Meets a couple of these a little worse off at the weights but a mare in form is worth following. Should be rattling home. Loves it wet too.

7. Eternal Flame (6)
Classy Victorian mare who seems to love this trip. Has won her past 2 runs over the mile, at Flemington and The Valley in stakes grade, latest at Gr 2 level beating Rumbled Again and Kiwi star Campionessa. Must be considered here as she has drawn a great marble.

9. Renaissance Woman (7)
Quality mare who was plugging away nicely when beaten 2 lengths by Zougotcha in the gr 1 Coolmore. Did carry 2.5kg less than her that day and meets her at even weights here. Last start was a strong finishing 3rd over 2000m in Gr 3 Sellwood in useful time. Will be back early and run on but place prospects appear best.

10. Madame Pommery (12)
In and out mare. Has a huge finish on her day but is simply too unreliable. Finished last in the Coolmore behind Zougotcha. Not keen.

Good on Soft
11. Osmose (11)
Two runs back from a spell have been excellent. Has followed a different path into this race than the others, last start winning the Gr 3 Epona over 1900m after being on speed all the way. This is harder but she’s on her home track and she will drive forward from the start. Could surprise at big odds.

12. Barbie's Fox (9)
Good mare on her day but form this time up has been woeful. Not keen.

Good on Soft
13. More Secrets (5)
has talent but Gr 1 level in the past has found her out. Was 2nd up when always rearward and 14th to Zougotcha in the Gr 1 Coolmore and meets her 6.5kg worse off. No.

Good on Soft
14. Tropical Squall (3)
Two-time Gr 1 winning mare both times at this track. Was 2nd up from a spell when leading at a hard clip and running a really gallant 4th to Zougotcha in the Gr 1 Coolmore. Was only beaten half a length that day and is a lot fitter now. Meets that mare on the same weight ratio again. Should lead these and can run very fast mid-race sectionals. If left alone in front, she will take a power of catching.

15. Arctic Glamour (14)
has taken a few runs to find her feet this campaign but last start showed she was back. Sat back near last in a fast run Emancipation over 1500m at gr 2 level, but sprouted wings late to finish 2nd to Olentia. This is harder but she gives the impression 1600m will suit. Rough place hope.

16. Makarena (8)
Is a major contender here. Only lightly raced but is getting better with racing. last start should have won the Gr 2 Emncipation but did not get a look at them at any stage when 4th to Olentia. Meets that mare .5kg better this time and has all the hallmarks about her to suggest she can run a strong mile. Be wary of her.

Ready to Fire
17. Tiz Invincible (17)
Has a horrible gate so will have to go way back early. is fit now and should run home hard. Has won gr races here and last start was a solid 8th to Veight in fast run Gr 1 Ryder on a day when coming from the back wasn’t rewarded. Keep safe.
